Good Morning LL

Blue is my new favorite color! Yesterday, I didn't think I'd see blue for a long time. Last night, the syringe was giving me trouble and rather than waste another, I gave the extra drop....so he got sk 1u, instead of .75....which isn't precise anyway.

Checkers is in more normal spirits today. He has no problem taking his tiny pill in a pill pocket. As long as it takes only one, i'm not going to worry about the carb count, right now.

The Clav doesn't taste so bad to me, but I still give Checks something extra special immediately after.
Yesterday and this morning, it was small pieces of deli ham, which he shouldn't have, but needed to get something he loves,in his mouth quickly. At least this med is short term, as opposed to the Meth, which will be forever. :YMSIGH:
Today, I'll go out and get some baby food ham.

I'm so happy that he feels good, so far. :-D He ate a good breffis of FF Beef, sprinkled with Fortiflora.
Of course, we had to do sink faucet, water. There's even a story about that, but I've made this too long already. :-D

eta: I am staying with increase from .75 to sk 1u....it's probably an extra drop

edited again....I made a decimal mistake :oops: .....he is not getting skinny one tenth unit......it is sk one unit.
Better to use words sometimes

Nice blue start today for Checkers. I always give my kitties a treat after I have to give them medicine too. There is a chance Checkers will not have any side effects from the Methimazole once you get him on a good dose. Callie and TT (GA) never did have any side effects from the Meth. Callie actually looks forward to getting her Meth. because she gets that treat right after she takes it.

Morning Barb, nice blue AMPS today for Checkers. I hope today will be a better day for you. I know yesterday was trying. I give Mags a little treat after her meds, as they're all liquid, and I know she hates the taste of one of them. Sending feel good and good meds vines for Checkers and you. Have a nice day.

I so love blue starts! Well done Checkers. It is nice to read that Checks is taking his meds well, and that the pill pockets work.I am with you: giving him a treat or something he really likes afterwards does make such a difference. It is what I do with Mannie. He looks for his "goodie" after he's had his meds. Mannie also loves the BF! I hope Checks will too.

My DD's kitty is also on meth, and has done very well with it. It took a few trial and errors to find the right dose. She's had no side affects either, and now has good thyroid levels. I'm sure it will be the same for Checks.

Good luck with the dosecrease too.

So nice to see a good, blue AMPS and to hear that Checkers is not having a problem with taking his meds. Good boy! I, too, am sure that once you get the issue of the methimazole dose settled, he will do just fine. Fingers and paws crossed!

Got fingers and paws crossed for the extra drop! YEAH Checkers!.. you can have your food spike of course, we're not looking at that dancing_cat dancing_cat I'm so glad he's feeling good. that means you're feeling good too!
I wanna hear the facet story! Ollie loves drinking from the facet, and Marble loves to swat the water all over the place. What's Checker's facet story?

:lol: the faucet story isn't that interesting to anyone but me.
He always stations himself the exact same way, back feet on edge of sink, front feet inside sink, head turned , to let water run into left side of mouth.

Last week, the pain was in the left side, and so he kept walking all around the sink, trying different positions, and finally jumping down, and getting into tub, turning his head to the right, for water. It was very telling.....and sad. :sad:

Today, with his mouth healing/healed, he is back to drinking the way he always has!! :thumbup

See? Exciting only to me. :lol:

You may think it's only exciting to you, but it's all apart of the whole cat report. The fact is, he is feeling better and getting back to his "old" ways! This makes all of us happy; as if it were our own cats. Now, Checks, can we come down to the yellow or blue floor?! Please?! Sleep well and enjoy some snuggles.
 
Hi Barb, thanks for visiting our condo today! I am glad Checkers is able to drink from his special faucet again:) Hope he gives you some lower numbers tonight!
