2/16 Cargo AMPS 121, AM+3.5 129, PMPS 151

Well, it appears my thoughts this morning on if the drop dose worked were correct. It felt funny when I shot him - like the needle either didn't penetrate the skin, or I didn't have any insulin in the needle. So now at AM+3.5 he's up when he should be down around his nadir. That's a giant bummer because I'm going away for another 6 days for work and will have to reduce his dosage anyway, making him higher still. :(

Thoughts on my having my bf give just a once a day drop dose to at least keep his numbers down more than totally OTJ?

I don't know enough to have an opinion other than my general understanding is that if you can't check bg before you give insulin, you can never know for sure whether it is safe to shoot.

If you want others to weigh in, especially others more experienced than me, I recommend editing your title with the "?" prefix and adding the question to the end of your title...something like "Question about giving insulin only once a day", to help get more eyes on your condo:)

Thanks Lyla! I am so torn on what to do but feel like if as long as my bf is around to deal with a potential hypo then he should be pretty safe. I'll definitely tell him not to shoot if he's not going to be able to monitor. I just feel like it's such a roller-coaster for poor Cargo to have such swings while I'm away. So until I can convince bf to test, this is the best I can do. :(
