forgot to pull food up 2 hrs before-slept in...either way should this be as horrible as it feels righ now? i have to get my hair done and wont be able to grab a +3, i can probably get a +5 should i pull his food up til i get back?

No - LEAVE The food out! And honestly, if you always leave the food and never remove it - it is fine too. I never removed food when Maui was on insulin, I let her eat when she wanted, which was usually just before morning test and shot!

Most of us leave food out ... the only time I have picked it up is a few hours before shot times.... and that's to not have a food influenced
number at pre-shots. You want a true picture of where they are.
I tried to do the 6 hour gap ( from +6 to shot time) and it was too much for Shadow. She likes to eat at least every 5 hours ( 4 hours
is her choice)
I finally got to where most days I was able to pick up her food 4 hours before shot times... had to pay attention to the clock... :roll:
That seemed to be a good balance.

thank you guys, i wasnt sure what to do and i didn' want to come home and test a food spike so i pulled up the food, i know better for next time

I am working on not allowing the numbers to dictate my mood, boy that's hard :-| real hard. im working on focusing on how ruben isn't worried about his numbers, he just does his thing regaudless, i have to put more faith in his little system o do the right thing. never in my life has something been so hard to control. but here and and all of you has really helped me on the right path. thank you fdmb, you never make me feel crazy.
my heart is deeply saddeded by the loss of moonie, scrabble and nuisance its too many to soon. i send strength and peace to there parents.
please keep praying for ruben, honey and all the other cats in the otj trail, we could use some celebrating here.
if anyone knows how i may be a greater help here in the forum don't hesitate to ask or give me directions.

Ruben doesn't know that he has diabetes:-) Probably wouldn't care if he did know. He's just loving life!

Go back to the very first day you posted and read what you wrote. Then go to Health, and look for a "very first" new member's post. You don't have to give detailed advice or anything. Just tell them how it gets easier and not to let their heads explode. :-D

carl, squeaky wish i could squeeze you guys in person so you could feel the love, but then again i might pop your heads off with the intense squeezing that may happen...lol,
update on bf- still a (fill in the blank) but at least being civil, we havent talked about anything and im to afraid of confrontaion to bring it up my self <working on it, but at least he's being civil and not screaming and acting like a 12yr old.
oh ruben get otj so we can deside what we want to do.

Morning!!! I've been following along with Ruben's progress and you're doing such a great job!! I don't post as much but wanted to pop in and let you know! Look at Ruben go!

Carl is so right. The best thing you can do to give back, is go find a newbie, who is as scared as you were, when you first came here, and offer encouragement.
Not medical advice, just let them know it does get easier.
I've been here 3 years, and still get terrified, over new problems, but friendly encouragement calms the soul.

Sam, you have a beautiful spirit, you can help! :-D
