Good Day LL!

Morgaine had a good night and was allowed freedom from the kitchen. Until the gate arrives I decided to let her out if she used the box and fortunately she did. I kept her in there all night and at 2 AM she finally needed to pee. She got in her box, did her business and then jumped out the deep side of the box, with some difficulty. She hit her back paws against the side and I do not want her to do that. I am sure it hurts her. So I removed the barrier and left the box in the kitchen and she did use it again. We have work to do with this but once the gate arrives I will be able to have more control.

Her AMPS was a nice 145 and she ate her fuds and is just hanging out in the kitchen. BTW, the kitchen is her hangout place to begin with so confining her to that is not a horrible fate for her. What I do not like is having the box in there but it is temporary.

Thanks again forthe support and ideas last night. I was so at the end of my rope. Today is a new day!

Will try to catch up some today and at least read condos. I am also working for a few hours this evening.

Re: 2/15 Morgaine AMPS 145

What a good report, and not just for Morgaine! She's doing well, that's great. You sound so much better today too!

Here’s a bit of my philosophy. The first rule for a caretaker is to take care of themselves first. If we aren’t realistic about our own needs and limits we can severely deplete our physical and emotional resources. If that happens we are no help to anyone. There is almost always a way to accomplish our goals if we work honestly within our limitations. It may take a creative look at the issues to work it out, but solutions can usually be found. And that is just what you are doing. So kudos to you Rosalie! And when venting is the therapy of the day, here we are. :YMHUG:

Great news that Morgaine used her box a couple of times. Confining them is one of the first things they will tell you to do when trying to break a behavior. Since it is her normal hang out anyway, it doesn't sounds like it will be traumatic. Hang in there Rosalie. You are a great great bean!
