Hello to the amazing team!!!

It's been a loong time I haven't posted here, I don't even know if you remember me..
Chnoudi was doing great on its tiny dose of insulin, she is healthy and even though we lost her civvie cat on August she seems to be happy.
On January 4th I left our home for a month due to a heart surgery that I had to do abroad. So, Chnoudi stayed with my husband. I have to mention it because she is really attached to me.
This month she started having skin problems below the ears, itching, sores and redness. She also started licking herself a lot. Also I have to mention that my husband fed her exclusively with the one of the two wet foods she eats, because the other was out of stock.
I returned on Friday and we took her to the vet. We also changed the food. The vet mentioned a possible food allergy, treated her for fleas, and prescribed two cortisone cremes (one for the eyes and one for the ears) and antibiotics.
She told me that it won't affect her sugar because cremes have small absorption, but I have already seen an increase in her bg....
In the ears and eyes that I put ointment on, there is an improvement, but she continues to scratch her body...
I would like your opinion and advice.... Do you think that It could be due to stress because I was away? And if its a food allergy what's going on?
Maybe Should I ignore the doctor and start giving her some antihistamine pill?
I'm so sorry for the big message... Thank you in advance!!!!
