Happy Valentine's Day LL!!

Today it has been one year since we got our FD diagnosis. We tried switching food for a month to see if that would take care of it, so Tarragon didn't start insulin until March 10. What a year it's been. We were convinced that we would never be able to do the whole sugar dance and were feeling completely hopeless. Tarragon was only 7 pounds at diagnosis and was a complete mess. I joined this group on Feb 17 after our vet gave me a pile of literature (which included a printout of the home page of FDMB) and just lurked for the first month until T started insulin. We know that we would not be where we are today and have such a happy purry furry kitty if it weren't for FDMB. I am amazed daily at the care and concern all of my friends on this board show for eachother and for us. I have learned a lot of patience this year and unconditional love. What better time than Valentine's Day and Tarragon's FD anniverary to tell you all thank you for all of the love and support you have given us over the last year. You have all made a huge difference in our lives and I never feel alone in this dance.



5 p's today. Blue! Woohoo!!!! That was a very nice sight first thing this morning.

I feel the same way about FDMB. It's great your vet turned you on to this site. So many of us were web surfing in the dark. And blue is a great testament to the advice and support we all get here daily. Surf blue!

Happy Annifursary to Tarragon and you! It's a bit of a bittersweet celebration -- we celebrate a diagnosis that brings us to the best place none of us ever wanted to be. And as a result, we make lemonade with a group of wonderful people and exceptional cats who understand the sweet part of the bittersweet celebration.

Happy Annifursary; it still seems strange to say it, but we all know it's a good thing we all found our way to LL. I, too, am impressed with your Vet giving you this site. Tarragon is giving you a nice blue for this one day annifursary. Happy Valentine's Day Melissa and Taragon, Turnup & Charlie, too!

wow, and ha it been that long? It does seem to be such a bitter sweet celebration, but a good one too. I so concur with your sentiments. I too wonder, and know, where we would be if it hadn't been for fdmb. Have a great day today - enjoy and celebrate Tarragon's good health. It's nice to have them back, isn't it?

Happy Annifursary! Yes, I'm sure it seems odd to the rest of the world, and as Sienne said, it is bittersweet, but IMO this truly is a day of celebration. FD is a unique gift that has taught us all so much about life...

And what a way to celebrate, T! Gorgeous AMPS!!!

As much as FD sucks i have to say it brings you so much closer to your kitty, and i wouldn't trade that for anything in the world. Happy Annifursary Tarragon!! He's happy and healthy and that's the best Valentine's Day gift any bean could want!

Is Tarragon getting a special gift/treat today?

I always make a heart shaped meatloaf for us hoomans on Vday. It goes back to when we were first married and poor and young parents. DH loves that tradition so I have done it every year since. The fur kids are getting boiled hamburger for their Vday meal and Tarragon will get a little extra.

I completely agree with the feeling of wishing you weren't here and being ever so grateful that we are here. ;-) We are coming up on Zener's 1st annifursary next month and in some ways it feels like the longest year ever and in others, like the blink of an eye. We are so glad that you and Mr T are here and that how he looks and feels is so much better now than a year ago.

Happy Annifursary, Mr. Tarragon!!! I remember when you joined and I can hardly believe it has already been a year. Melissa, you are such a great bean to Mr. T and such a support and cheerleader to all of us here on FDMB.

I love your tradition of the the heart shaped meatloaf. What a fun idea. Who says roses and candy are the way to go!

435!!!! Tarragon!! That is NO way to celebrate your 1 year OnTJ! :o :o Tarragon came over to get the vetty smell off Leo and Leo apparently lent him his red Valentine's Day suit he was wearing earlier!

happy annifursary from me and the punkin too! our anniversary is in a couple of days - i gotta go look now and see. i know what you mean though - i couldn't be more grateful for the people here. i didn't really think punkin would still be alive in a year. and tarragon has been through even more - we're all so glad he recovered so well!
