Sid wishes all of you a very happy Valentine's Day! Lots of love and hugs all around.

We've had a change of behavior the last couple of days. He has a ravenous appetite. He ate almost an entire can of food this morning and other one this evening. However his levels have been really high - 400s to 500s. I've been following an unconventional protocol to try to bring him down. Not sure what else to do. It is good to see him with such a good appetite but he has gone from last week of constantly laying on the couch to the last couple days of not leaving the food feeding area. Everytime I go into the kitchen, he follows me in the hopes of getting more.

Happy Valentines' Day to you, too, Sid! It's good that you're eating lots of good fuds. Keep up the good work so that you can gain some weight. We all love you, little guy!

Hi Lydia, Maybe Sid needs more insulin? I don't know much about this, but I have read that when FD is first diagnosed, one of the telltale signs is a ravenous appetite, but no weight gain (often weight loss) because the nutrients are not getting into the cells. Sienne is very knowledgeable on this issue. Perhaps send her a PM?

Yum, yum! Eat 'em up! It's so good to hear Sid is eating well. I hope it gives him strength to deal with his other issues. Happy Valentine's day from us.
 
Great news on the appy! Now for lower BGs. After Tarragon was DKA, it took awhile for his appetite to pick up. Like Sid, he suddenly was eating everything and his BGs were high. We just kept raising the dose every 6 cycles. We actually went up 2 U before we got them under control again. Hopefully Sienne will chime in but that was our experience.
