Yesterday

Happy Valentines' Day, Everyone!

Rusty had bad congestion last night (he has chronic congestion). But he is fine this morning. We didn't get much sleep because I had to set a +7 alarm to check on his bg, and after that I was awake listening to his breathing. This morning he sneezed several large gobs of snot! He ate all of his nighttime food and so far has eaten the first sitting of breakfast. He's in his little bed by the radiator.
The temperature is already above zero and it is snowing and very windy (wind chill advisories for the whole weekend). I may go to see some of the Ice Carnival parade, but Edward doesn't care for this event, so he will stay home. At the moment he is baking a loaf of French Country Bread for a little post-parade potluck at a friend's house.

Sending birthday greetings to Gabby, vines to all kitties and beans in need, and Valentine's greetings to you all. (46 years ago today we got engaged!!! It was a cold, sunny day in NYC. We went to a party that night and someone else drank our wine!)

Ella, other than the wind, this sounds like a most wonderful day in your neck of the woods! Good numbers for Rusty, climbing temperatures, bread baking odors in the house, a congestion breaking achooooo for the boy, a Winter Carnival parade. And bestest of all. An engagement anniversary! Whoooooot! (Someone else may have gotten the wine, but you got each other; you two won!)

Great cycle for Rusty!!Waking up to kitty snot is not my favorite way to wake up, but I am sure glad Rusty is feeling good and eating good! Good move to skip the parade- have a wonderful time at the potluck tonight- enjoy Edward's fresh baked bread--yum! Congratulations on your engagement anniversary too!

Bummer on the congestion and lack of sleep. I hope you got a nap in, instead of freezing while watching a parade. Rusty's looking great in now that he's gotten rid of the gunk.

We drank winter ale to celebrate! Had a nice time this evening.
Rusty was waiting for us on the piano bench. He had a good day today, even though he refused his lung treat, again.
