Hi Jason, Kona and Cleo.

Hopefully she behaves today while you're gone. Looks like she's feeling better and eating again. That's good. You went through so much the last few days.

Have a good day

Good morning Jason, so glad to hear Kona is feeling better and eating better. Wishing you all a sweet Valentine’s Day with your sweet girls.
I hope everything is smooth surfing today with all those yummy carbs eat up.
Big hugs to you and the girls:kiss::bighug::kiss:

Kona ate half her dinner, but I put some toppers on, put her in a quiet room and she ate the rest. I think we so close to getting back to normal. I'm considering dropping off the Cerenia to see what happens.

Good news, I got a prescription for Cerenia for Kona. It is written for 3 - 24mg pills with 11 refills for a year.
The FDA approved a generic, Maropitant Citrate, for dogs last year, but Wal-Mart didn't find it in their system. I'll look around, this stuff is not cheap.

I'm working on getting prescriptions for Ondansetron and Mirataz as well... for the emergency kit.

6:25pm - Shot 1.0U

Update: Cleo's fecal sample results came back... they screened for 20 internal parasites and didn't find anything. It came up clean.

I should get Kona's results tomorrow.

This will rule out the diarrhea and stomach issues being related to parasites considering both cats were affected.

I asked yesterday, but still haven't heard back from the ER on the $200 urine culture test. Thought I'd have some results by now... I'll call again tomorrow.

Hmm.. going up at +1. I'll check again in an hour or two. Either onset hasn't kicked in yet or this cycle will be active on the second half.

Great to hear Kona is returning to normal.:)

Release from FDA here: https://www.fda.gov/animal-veterina...ant-citrate-tablets-use-dogs-prevent-vomiting

My vets been using generic maropitant for a while now, for cats. Cerenia tablets (the brand) are approved by the FDA by dogs, but not cats, though used for ages for cats.

Ah yes, that's the web page I found the other day.

Good to hear your vet is already on board, the few pharmacies I talked to were confused. I'm actually confused why my Vet's in-house pharmacy is giving me a prescription for Cerenia, but says on it "no substitutions" which, I think means no generic. They also put it down for only 3 pills, when they come in packs of 4. I think the pharmacy did say they can split packs though.

I'll have to straighten them out.

Yeah, I think that does mean no generics. There is a HUGE price difference, try the Walmart pharmacy for the generic. I find the one by me is great for generics. Also, the vets are hit and miss with their upkeep on generics...my regular vet clinic didn't know about the generic being available, but the place I went for Abby's (Jack's sister) dental actually had it on hand. I paid $24 for 4 tablets, which for Abby is 16 doses. For Jack that would only be 8 doses since he's a chunk-pot!
Hope you and your sweet kitties have a good weekend! :bighug:
