Yesterday's Condo
Today is designated as Gabby's birthday and you are all welcome to celebrate with us. It is a designated day since Gabby is a 'pound' kitty and I don't know exactly when to celebrate her birthday. But, for a reason very close to my heart, I chose Valentine's Day. Many of you have seen the photos of George -- my mutant calico male – in Gabby’s Profile. When George adopted me, I was also adopted by an orange tabby girl, Gracie. On February 14, 2000 Gracie crossed the Bridge very suddenly due to a cardiac arrhythmia. Four months later, Gabby insinuated herself into my heart and my life by chewing on my shoelaces and chattering at me incessantly at a local shelter. She clearly wanted to come home. Gabby possesses many of Gracie's qualities (shy around strangers, as sweet as can be with me) and it seemed as though Gracie's spirit was passed along to Gabby. Even George accepted Gabby with one single hiss and they then became fast friends. So, today is Gabby's day. Gizmo has so far pestered Gabby only briefly and brought both me and Gabby ‘his’ toys. (Although Gizmo is already whining that he wants his party, too. His fifth birthday is on the 17th. There's gonna be a lot of celebrating around here this week!)
