2/14 Chloe OTJ trial day 12 AMBG 103

This morning BG was 103.
Better than yesterday morning.
Leg seems better, less painful and she is wanting to jump up on the couch however seems her problem now is she lacks confidence in herself not pain.
She seems quite anxious still…. Fast breath, heart rate although I do not know how to officially check either. Just going off listening and looking at her breathing. As I said though this has been a somewhat stressful time at our house, so I’m not sure if it’s effecting her.
I may try her vet today
 
To check the respiration rate count the number of full breaths while resting for a minute. It should be 20-30. I think it would be good to have the vet check her out. It’s not fd related and I would want to make sure about her heart. I’m nit saying there’s a problem but fast breath is nit normal. Try and count while she’s resting.

Thank you. it was fine actually. I googled how to check the breathing and it was 25 earlier this morning and then 27 just a couple min ago (when I just bothered her) haha
I think I might have found a potential issue!
she has a nail on her front paw, right in the middle, that seems to have thickened a bit and kinda bothering her when I touched it. Maybe it’s bothering her pad. I often can trim her nails without issue but this one is pretty close to the pad I can’t seem to get the nail clipper in there without her fussing. Perhaps it is painful to her and causing her stress? It’s right in the middle of her front paw and she doesn’t seem to want to lie on it
 
As Max aged his nails became quite thick and my vet had to cut them. They have a special tool. I’m glad the respiration rate is normal. Happy day 12.

What would we do without google?

I like the advice I’ve received here much better than google :)

I usually am able to trim her nails but I’m not sure what happened with this one, I’ve never seen one like that.
Good news also, she just jumped up on the chair! :)
Although her back nails got a little stuck, she doesn’t want me to touch them haha
She is very persnickety in her old age I see :)
That’s ok I will go along with anything she requests of course :)

thank you for the advice on the nails. I will try to get her there asap because I don’t think she will let me do it and I don’t want to cut her.
 
PMBG was 81!!!!
That +9 snack must have made a difference.
I’m going to take her to the vet though now though so thinking the next sugar might be high from stress :( I’ll try to do a +9 snack though again :)

The +9 made a difference for Wesson today too.

I hope that helps her. The tech was so sweet. She said it was thick, something about the sheath was very thickened that’s why it looked like it was bigger than the others and had started being against the pad.
Chloe was not happy when they trimmed it :( but hopefully it feels better. They trimmed them all and didn’t charge me, so kind.
She’s a little annoyed at me now too haha

Oh so you took her already, great. I hope it helps, was probably bothering her. That was nice that they didn't charge. Have a nice night Mary :cat:
