Yesterday's Condo

A stinkus pinkus start for us this morning, so I'm giving his ears a break today and skipping spot checks... the vet will be so proud. *snark*

The weather here has been BEAUTIFUL today!!! Sunshine, temps in the 60s, and much of the snow is melting! Woo! Got out and ran my crazy coupon lady errands ($0.30 for a tube of Colgate, a bottle of Listerine, and a speedstick deodorant! Not too shabby!), so I'm just getting to our condo.

Willie is doing okay. Ears/face continue to be a hot mess. I believe a lampshade is imminent. I should have stopped by the vet today as I wasn't too far from there, but it didn't occur to me until now. Stocked up on more neosporin with pain relief, which seems to help his ears quite a bit. He is now washing off the neo I just put on his face. This kid is lucky I lurve him. LOL Lots of cuddles today, 3Ps in place, and while he's slept alot today, he continues to seem more alert. Stitches continue to pose no problems. Anxious for the results of the skin biopsy, which we could have early as tomorrow. That will confirm whether or not his skin condition is the result of allergies or some other condition. Auto-immune disease has jumped ahead of food allergy as the lead suspect, though I'm hoping it isn't the case (and isn't something worse!). If it is auto-immune, then the only real treatment option for remission is steroids, which would be taken for the rest of his life (and therefore insulin would be as well). I will wait to start him on anything until we've seen the cardiologist on the 22nd and have results of the echo that will be performed that day. I hate making him wait any longer for relief, but it will be less than a week, and I think it is wise to know everything before committing to a treatment option.

Okay, one more errand to run, then gotta make Willie's food for the week! Hope everyone has had a great weekend!

Re: 2/13 Willie AMPS 338

Hi Christie, I'll be thinking positive thoughts for Willie tomorrow for a call from the vet on his diagnosis. I hope it isn't autoimmune. I understand about the shots thing, as my Vet thinks I take too many tests, and I'm one that doesn't test as much most of the time. You make Willie's food, good for you! Have a good evening.

Re: 2/13 Willie AMPS 338

sending lots of good vibes your way for Willie Do Lou is allergic to so many things he was tested in 2006 and I elected to not do shots but regret it now oh well   anyway I have seen auto immune cases go off steroids in time just depends on the animal but with being a tech for 16 yrs and doing primarily nothing but lab work I saw a lot of auto immune cases I mean a lot mostly dogs but many of them came off steroids so I do think there is always hope even if it turns out to be that

Paws & fingers crossed for Willie's vet visit tomorrow--Hope you can find the cause & treatment will be easy...I was on prednis. myself for 2 yrs. for RA..It helped me SO much. of course ,I am not an FD cat confused_cat confused_cat , but did eventually go off them & am fine.. RA is also auto immune disease..
Skin affected too. Hope Willie's treatment will work & he will be just fine..
But then he has the best bean a kitty could--YOU!!
