Good morning and happy weekend! Yesterday's readings produced a real curve, which dipped into the green at one point and worried me because Stu's numbers had been pretty consistent in the pinks and yellows. But yesterday ended up in the pink once again. I don't have the experience to be able to interpret these numbers. Somewhere in the literature I read that when Lantus is working correctly it produces a shallow curve in the safe range with no dramatic ups and downs. Sienne & Ronnie suggested that we get a full curve over the weekend. We may be able to do tests every two hours tomorrow (Sunday), Stu's ears permitting! (Today is the final day of Winter Carnival in our village and there will be too much socializing to attempt a blood-glucose curve, but I will be able to get some readings.) Stu is his usual high-spirited self: this morning he turned over and pawed around in all the waste-paper baskets in the house. Appetite good. Water consumption and urine output high. Ketones negative.
Thanks for all your help.

Hi Ella! The reason you got green is because the insulin is indeed working and you are getting some action on the 2.75 dose!
It usually takes 6 cycles=3 full days for a dose to settle in the cat's body...It is working :-D :-D
Try to get a spot check every 2 hours like +2. +4, +6 and that will help, especially now that your dose seems to be doing it's job..OK?
It is looking good for Stu, he is feeling well & doing happy cat things..Enjoy the day!
