Re: 2/13 Maverick AMPS 113.6

Good morning, Karrie. Looking good there, Maverick! I'm sure he's enjoying that catnip for breakfast!

Good luck with the diet research for your dog, I hope he improves soon. Take care of yourself, it sounds like you have your hands full. :YMHUG:

Re: 2/13 Maverick AMPS 113.6

I haven't heard much lately out Chatty Kathy. Are you glad she's back or not! How is your dog today - sorry, as I forgot his/her name? Maverick looks like he is having a nice day.

realize it's the wrong dog, but it's the right goddess on the shirt!

I hear you on the fur shots!! Let's hope some of it got in. Good luck with your pup. I hope you can find some foods that will work for him.

Have a good day today and get in some relaxation, OK?

Re: 2/13 Maverick AMPS 113.6

Ok what goddess is that - goddess of imaginary friends?

Nike is eating this morning... animal crackers ohmygod_smile We bought some slippery elm and activia yogurt to help counteract the baytril.

Maverick is in a real feisty mood today. Him and my husband are having a battle of wills. Maverick wants over on DH's remote control car workshop/desk and DH doesn't want him there. DH is winning but Maverick won't take no for an answer.

Re: 2/13 Maverick AMPS 113.6

Animal crackers for Nike, eh? Whatever works...ya know.

Dang those fur shots....hate them.....

Its so strange that Maverick is needing that last little drop of insulin to help support his pancreas right now.....such a little amount......it just amazes me how powerful that insulin truly is....Glad he is feeling fine and fiesty.......Go Maverick.

Re: 2/13 Maverick AMPS 113.6

Glad to see Maverick continues to do well! Love that he is talking up his imaginary friend and fighting a battle of wills with the bean! A busy day for Mav indeed!

Hope you guys have had a great weekend!

Re: 2/13 Maverick AMPS 113.6

Hi Karrie

just read about your past few days, you have your hands full, but hope it settles down soon.
:YMHUG:
a little blue is ok too, Maverick is looking great!
have a good evening and week.

Maverick really hates these long needles. He cries out. Tonight I had to get more insulin as I squeezed out too much. So a 29G probably gets duller faster. I hate having to get more insulin. Next time I'm going to use a new syringe.

I added some extra this evening. Maybe it wasn't such a smart idea but I thought it was at the time. I can't be sure I'm giving furshots. I can't for the life of me smell insulin. But never have been able to. I should have made up a reference syringe too. ohmygod_smile ohmygod_smile ohmygod_smile I know there was a tiny bit more white between the plunger and 0 than with the .10.

Thanks for the good thoughts for Nike our dog. I'm getting absolutely amazing advice from the K9kidney diet group and the amazing people on the CHF forum. The long term bladder infection (Since Mid May last year - how horrible huh) - that I had to fight with the vet to draw and culture - may have caused the kidney damage. We are still wishing it will be reversible. Don't know right now really whats causing it.

sorry, karrie...it's the Greek goddess Nike...i should have realized it was hard to see...

i can't remember what comedienne said this, maybe Rita Rudner...

"When i was a child I had 2 friends...they were both imaginary...and would only talk to and play with each other!"

i found that hilarious...

Ahhh I get it now. DUH. The puppies were named after greek Gods and Goddesses ohmygod_smile ohmygod_smile ohmygod_smile . My brain is letting me down today. I think my IQ is dropping daily.

I wish I knew what the heck Maverick is saying. He's trying to communicate something. Food check, water check, maybe he wants the sun to rise ?

Nice numbers for Maverick today- Moonie cries out many times when I shoot her--Are you holding the syringe in your hand & slightly warming, because after all, it comes out of the frig, into the cat & Moonie yelps from the cold insulin going in!--You are doing a great job, & on such a low dose--amazing job!

Sending Healing Green light to Nike & hope he feels better...HUgs from Us--Have a good night!

Having a lot of trouble multitasking today too. Looks like I'll be testing my dog's BG too. Hers is low for some reason. I didn't even think - hmmm I can check that myself until today. What is the best time to get a reading - before I feed her in the morning?
