Good morning! :cat:

Kona was picky this morning, it took awhile, but she did eat. I put out some Steak Frites that she loves, but she wasn't having it.

She had a firm stool this morning, which is great, I took it in to the vet for analysis.

Lower AMPS, which is good... but worrisome if she doesn't take her snacks today. I will give Cerenia here in a few minutes. It's an hour early, but I'm trying to walk back the time to get in her system earlier.

You can give Cerenia and Mirataz at the same time, as they both kick in at approx the same timeframe.
That way her tummy's settled, and she feels hungry at the same time.

I hope you both have a great day ahead!

Thanks so much, and I think you said previously it can take up to two hours to kick in for both of them?

I wake up at 6am and feed her breakfast and shoot. This complicates things as I can’t wake up at 4am to give her these meds. I can’t really change her shot time either with my work schedule.

hmmm… then there’s the 24 hour effects of it, when do I want it to be the strongest. Right, I want the meds to work for both meals at 6:30am/6:30pm.

Im wondering if I should give it at 4pm instead? That will cover the 6:30pm dinner and will hopefully still be in her system the next morning for the breakfast at 6:30am. I think she’s probably more hungry through the night too as she is not getting as many snacks and the urge to eat after sleeping all night?

Yes, I'd give it to her for the PM, so you have a bit of insurance that she has a good appetite. And they both take 1 - 2 hours max. to kick in.
You can see how her appetite is after 1 hour, and adjust from there.

Hi Jason, so glad to hear Kona seems to be feeling better today. You're doing great watching and responding to all of her needs.
I hope the balance of meds help to keep her hungry and wanting to eat. It's so hard to balance it all when they are feeling "off".
Sending positive healing vines your way.:bighug::bighug::bighug:

Oh Jason. I'm so sorry to learn that Kona was at the ER. I know how much you care for her. It must have been difficult to see her suffer like that. My heart is with you! :bighug::bighug::bighug:
I hope Kona feels better soon and that you'll figure out what is going on.
Sending much love:bighug:

Thanks, Shelly! Hopefully Fistuk is well... I've been so tied up with Kona I haven't checked in on everyone. I'll make time to go back this weekend. :bighug::bighug:

I'm sooo relieved. Kona was asking for food early before dinner. I was so exited I did everything just a little earlier... she usually takes about 15 to eat and tonight she ate in 5 minutes. YESSSS!!!

Her BG today was not the best today, but we will get back on track once everything settles down. This might be a bounce from some of the blues we saw last night from the 48 hours or so of high numbers with the ER event.

I'll try to get a ketones test with the blood meter later tonight for good measures.
