A yellow start, that's a change. She had a big poop last night, 2 nights in a row now, also a good thing. Hopefully this bounce has cleared and can see what this dose will do now. She was so close to a green last night. Greens are nice but if she would just stay all blue I'd be thrilled. Is that to much to ask for.I

It's 32 degrees and we care covered in ice. I guess that's better than the 8" of snow covered in ice as was predicted .

And we are on the beach.

Poop watch is a big thing here lately. She isn't straining and it's not hard, there just isn't any motility any more. She can go 5 days without any. Trying to prevent megacolon now. Pumpkin, bone broth and egg yolk during the day and doubled miralax at night. Poor girl doesn't get any food that doesn't have something in it.

I see blue
Maybe start her on some lactulose? I used to give Allen 3 ml each day; I did find that 3 ml at one time seemed to give him gas :oops::oops: so I split it into 2 doses. It kept him regular and there was a poop pretty much every day. I think the lactulose is better than miralax....miralax pulls water out of the rest of the body whereas I don't think miralax does. But....don't buy it at your vet; check with your local pharmacy. We were paying Dr Larry about $20 for a bottle and when we inquired at the pharmacy in our nearest grocery store we found out we could get a bigger bottle for about $3.00.

I don't know how many times I've said that ! But after a while in blue I'm wanting to see Green! ;)

lactulose?
I just read this. I thing most things to cure constipation work that way. Water is the key to helping with constipation.
Your veterinarian may prescribe lactulose, a synthetic sugar used to treat constipation. It is broken down in the colon into products that pull water out from the body and into the colon. This water softens stools.”

https://www.petmd.com/cat/care/8-ways-help-your-constipated-cat Sometimes it's good to review the ideas for relieving constipation.

Looks like she is trying to clear the bounce and stay safe.

Yeah for poops!! I used to give lactulous to my Sug, GA. I am going to look into it again for my boys and research the pros an cons of it rather than miralax.

I used lactulose for Smokey but Olive's vet won't give it because it has sugar. I didn't know you could get it at a pharmacy. I will ask next time I go.
