Spike is doing well with his numbers. A bit better since I added the fat back on. Its amazing what a little smidge of insulin can do. Its been a week since we lost Princess. I got her ashes back at the beginning of the week, now Im just waiting for her urn to arrive. I bought one thats hand made in California by a husband and wife. Its a stand up wooden box with carved out decorative scrolling on it. It has a place for a picture on the front. I liked this because I can change the picture any time I want. I still look every morning at her favorite spot for her. She was my vocal kitty, especially as she got older, now its very quiet. I find Spike looking for her too. I keep telling him what happened and hope he understands. The first night after she passed he started sleeping with me on my side of the bed. He only did this before on the first night after I got back from a trip. Usually him and Princess would sleep downstairs all night until it was time to get me up in the morning. I imagine hes lonely now down there all by himself. Another big change for him is not having her (uneaten) food at his disposal. This could be a good thing for his weight. All in all were doing ok...we have our moments of sadness but we'll be fine.
