He was getting fussy yesterday (I was too) so I gave him a break and didn't get many readings. No more breaks now though since we're starting to transition in Dr Elsey's. My human meter arrives today so tomorrow I'll be switching to that sheet. I'll update my sig appropriately and I'll also include a link to the current sheet for historical reference.
 
What meter did you decide on? Hope Sebastian really likes the new food and won't be to difficult to transition. Will be interesting to see what happens to his glucoses.
 
I wound up getting that Contour NEXT that I linked originally. Strips are little more expensive than some of the suggestions but overall cheaper than what I had been using for the Alpha Trak and it'll save me from having to go to Walmart.

Food has worked out okay so far. Current blend is 1/4 cup DM Dry, topped with Dr Elsey so it's 1/3 cup total, mixed with 1/4 can Wellness Core Turkey & Duck. He gobbled it up. I've been using the FortiFlora to top it and he loves it. It's actually kind of funny, I just have to pretend to sprinkle some on and he runs over and starts chowing down.

I think it's fine to give him a break, especially when he is high and flat. Even while you are changing the dose, you could test every 3 hrs say, as long as he was high and flat, but if you see a drop follow it up with another test. That way both you and Sebastian can get a break. One thing I will highlight is that it's real important not to shoot blind. Even if you are giving him a pokey break the PS test is a must, for safety sake.

Glad he likes the new food and that the fortiflora seasoning is making his food irresistible, even when you just pretend to sprinkle.
