Morning LL,

I have good news - We were able to move up Rex's dental surgery to Wednesday! And with our preferred Vet/surgeon.

Feeding Rex has been a challenge with his evil tooth pain.
But Rex ate his entire breakfast this morning 3.0oz at 0454. I am soooooo happy.

I reduced his insulin by .25 (so surgery) and so he received 1.5units.
Gave oral AB - Boy does he hate that!!!

Was able to meet with Rex's vet/surgeon to review his morning numbers and status.
His surgery will time is in the afternoon so his food will have been digested - Yea!!

I am sooooo looking forward to get Rex over this hurdle and recovering

Re: 2/12 Rex AMPS 334 +2 389 - Out of Surgery!!! All Good

Surgery Update

Vet called to advise Rex is doing great. He did need to have 2 teeth extracted.
Can't remember the numbers, but his blood sugar was only a little higher than when I dropped him off.

Will get a full report when I pick him up. The scary part is done, not comes the recovery!

@Ann - Thanks for the welcome wagon! Rex loves a party

@Marje/11Feb - Thanks for the great link in yesterday's condo on Dental Procedures.

@Josie/11Feb - Next time you are in Tucson you will have to meet with Rex!!

@Jamie/11Feb - Rex is getting Tresaderm for his itchy ear. It is really helping

@Angela/Sienne - Thanks for the concern and great insight on the AB. Will talk with the vet about AB when I pick up Rex.

Huge Thanks For Everyone!

I'm so glad you could get the surgery moved up to today. :-D Sending piles of good dental recovery vines your way. Do you have some all meat baby food around? Some kitties have a harder time eating after extractions and the baby food is something he could handle. Remember to only feed him small bits every 20 minutes or so. Anesthesia can affect the GI as well as blood glucose so you want to avoid a scarf and barf. You should also test his BG when you get home so you know if it's dropping by PMPS.

Give Rex a ton of scritches from me when he gets home! :YMHUG: That's for you, I hate the waiting.

OMG Wendy - Thank You sooooo much!

BG patrol will be in full force tonight and long with micro feedings. ;-)
Did not think of baby food as a backup to his pattee food. :)
