Hello friends,

It's been a few days and full of winter weather patterns the likes of which I don't recall experiencing before. But it is what it is, to coin the oft worn phrase.

Azalea continued to improve, with the anesthesia etc beginning to clear her system. Appy improved, her sense of being began to shine again, all good signs. Then last night noticed while doing the ore-meal clean gunk from mouth area, saw that the outer area of her mouth was pink and raw. This morning, even more so. Dentist not on call, vetty not in the loop on the dental surgery. In the meantime I've been gently wiping with coconut oil and very dilute herbal wash (is calendula, eye bright and St. John's wort) to keep area clean and soft. She continues to eat, more so with Steve. I'm the one who does the icky stuff! Dentist opens early tomorrow so I'll call soon as he's open.

Other civvies ok, and enjoy sleeping, snow watching and, in the case of Spunky, racing from window to window to check out the action, whatever the heck it may be.

Feeling weirdly flat of articulation and submerged lately. Not an ideal way to be. My friend's husband is nearing his time and is on morphine pump now. She and I have been on phone or texting daily because the weather has made visits difficult. Another friend and neighbor of ours has been in hospital, diagnosed with atrial fibrillation when she went in for a colonoscopy.
Then onto the mundane: minor plumbing problem at home and plumbing problem at the shop (the latter has happened before when something goes wrong with the grease trap for the restaurant in the building. Stinky stinky stinky but grateful for no overflow)!!!!!!

Sending lots of love and vines for all in challenges, need and extra hugs. Thank you all for being the loving, caring souls that you are. L&LL is ❤️❤️❤️.

I hope it's something simple with Azalea's mouth and the dental vetty can help right away. Sorry to hear about your friends. Sending prayers to all. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Sina.

I'm sorry to read that Azalea has developed a complication. I hope the dentist will have a simple explanation and solution for you. I'm glad that it isn't preventing her from eating. Sending healing vines.

Such a difficult, sad time for you and your friend. I'm sure it doesn't make it any easier on her to have the weather keeping her friends from visiting. I'm sure your support means a great deal to her.

My DH and his DF both have atrial fibrillation. DH's is controlled with medication and his father had a pacemaker put in before Christmas. His heartbeat is normal now. It's good that your friend was diagnosed before something happened - like my DH's stroke! I'm sure the proper treatment will be started and things will look much better.

I hope the plumbing issues all get resolved quickly. It's always something, isn't it?

Hi, we're home from early morning with Azalea's dentist. Long story short, in addition to her outer mouth being red and inflamed, a pocket of bright red blood burst and oozed when he began to examine and palpate her mouth. Resumed the bupe, started decreasing dose protocol of prednisolone, had an injection
(Yes convenia not my fave but she's not had reactions to it before), continuing probiotics and immune support. And a spray of chlorhexadine to apply to kleenex or gauze while continuing to clean outer mouth. Update dentist tomorrow , recheck next week or sooner if any complications.

He took photos today, to compare I'm sure with time of surgery and for next recheck.

Apologies for being so graphic.
Hugs and vines for all in challenges and in need.

Including a photo of her after we got home and before our mutual nap with Dancer alongside.

Thanks Tricia. Yes they were good to do a "can you bring her in now."
Hope this change in protocol helps. Whatever will help and not harm, including allopathics when needed.
She's been through so much these past months.
How are you?❤️

Sina I was off line for a few days and I missed the oral surgery for Azalea and so glad that it is behind you now and
I hope the vet can give some answers to the residual oozing and maybe it is to be expected with so many teeth removed.

Sounds like the rest of the gang is well :cat:

Sorry about your friends and their health problems. If we have our health , we have wealth . With the fur gang, and your friends and plumbing issues, it's a wonder you can type! Wishing a calm peaceful world for you ASAP :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

I'm glad the dental vetty was able to see Azalea today. I hope the new treatments take care of things. Sending prayers. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

How are you?❤️
Tired. We drove up to Reno for the weekend - skiing for DH with his father, gambling for me. There was a road closure on the route - big mudslide from our recent heavy rain. We had to take a detour through back roads that added at least two hours to what should have been a three hour drive. Coming home, the road was open, but it was bumper to bumper, stop and go most of the way and took over four hours. My sciatica was not happy about it - spent most of both drives with my seat reclined. Now back to getting things packed for our remodel project - all new flooring and repainting entire interior. This is going to be insane! Thanks for asking. ;)

Thanks Bobbie. Ntw. I hope all is ok with you and your tribe. I've not been good about keeping up with everyone's threads, and feel low about not lately contributing and helping in the ways that you all have been for our tribe. ❤️

Thank you too, Carla. Whatever the time of day, the spirit sun shines with you. How are you all doing?. ❤️

Tricia, what a marathon weekend you went through! I didn't envy you the long drive and ..excruciations of the all-too-familiar sciatica flare ups. But I hope there were some bright spots (and no disheartening news such as when you learned that Sootie passed away ❤️).... maybe even some good luck at the casino. ❤️ Good luck and vines for no sciatica flare ups while readying for and during the home renovations . a major project for sure. You're a brave soul!!!

Right now Azalea is snoozing on my chest again, after making a pretty good dent in her supper and tolerating her evening dose of liquid prednisolone. I'm glad she's on AB now; still don't understand why dentist held off on AB til now (I even asked on surgery day and after). But that was then. This is now. Moving forward, crossing paws.

Azalea's snoozing is contagious, time for this bean to join in her restfulness.

Hugs and vines for a gentle night for all.
And...Happy Valentines Day tomorrow ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Sorry to hear about the dental complications, I hope the AB and pred do the trick.

Sending peace and light for your friend at this difficult time.
Enjoy your Azalea induced nap.:bighug::bighug::bighug:

We're doing pretty well. I think the Neosporin is helping Furball's ear. I'm still giving the Flower Essences. It's only been 3 weeks. :bighug::bighug::bighug:
Hi Carla
Glad to hear the the neosporin is helping Furball's ear and I hope that the Flower Essences that you found are helping. There sure are times and situations where traditional and alternative are an essential team! Hope your Valentine's Day is ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Hi Gill. Great to hear from you and thanks for your vines for us and our friends.
Azalea is an amazing girl now going through recovery from what turned to be not one - the eye injury and then enucleation that you were a huge part in guiding us through -- but now two major surgeries within a couple of months of each other. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Wishing you a Valentine's Day full of ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️!
