So he's still at 10 hrs.

I was thinking, he's getting 4.5U a day on an 8hr schedule. You'd think 2.25U on a 12 hr would work. But as low as he's gone on the 1.5, I'd be afraid to try that. Of course on 10hr it's less per day. Just my brain trying to work overtime when it's only part time. :lol:

Lovin' these #'s for Lucian! But I don't envy that schedule. Hopefully, he'll settle into an easier routine for you.

The schedule wouldn't matter if I didn't have to take classes. Of course, this week with a broke toe and 3 spider bites and classes cancelled due to weather, I don't have to worry about it. ;-)

Speaking of weather! We have about 2 inches of snow and no sign of slowing down. This in the last 2 hrs. Only every couple years do we even get 4-6 inches. Usually just a dusting-an inch a couple times each winter. We ARE in the south after all, more apt to get ice than snow. Looks to be a 'good' snowstorm, if you can call it that. Although a fine snow and not clumpy, it is coming down hard and fast. Not whiteout, but not far from it. Most I've seen since early 2000's when we got 2 feet, our '100 year blizzard' they called it. As of yesterday, THEY weren't even calling for snow till tomorrow. AGAIN, I want to be a weather girl, so I can be constantly wrong and still have a job!

Still looking good at 10 hrs.

Our snow @3-4" has now changed to sleet/ice/freezing rain and we're being warned of widespread power outages. If we 'disappear' you'll know we lost power and we'll be back asap. Should that happen, I'll SLIDE to the nearest hotel with power until mine is back on. Neither me nor my babies can handle below freezing temps with no heat. We are all too old for that crap.

Yeah its headed here and if we lose power we will just huddle together. Its funny because with Sciatica I have been sleeping in my recliner so Alska is very quick to claim my lap. But then civvies wait until he is asleep and they sneak on and slowly curl up and close their eyes. Sometime Alska wakes up and sees them and lifts his paw but I just lightly pat his paw down. Then he looks at me and says, How did you let this happen?" I cant imagine trying to take 5 cats to a hotel.

At one point I had 4 cats and a golden retriever in a hotel for a week during/after hurricane Floyd. During the brunt of the storm, we were all in the bathtub! :lol: Me, 4 cats and an 80# dog! Lined it with pillows and that's where we rode out the storm. Then 5 days with no power and finally was able to get home and had power! We had impassible roads and bridges out, took that long before we could get thru and it took over 50 miles to go the 18 miles to home. No matter which road we took, 'you can't get there from here'. Had to go around in circles to finally get home. We had no damage at home, but were in a mobile home and I refused to stay there. I owned it and it was well insured, so I took my babies to stay safe. The MH meant nothing to me if we weren't safe.

So far, still have power duh! Still sleet and ice off and on, keeping fingers crossed we get thru this without an extended power loss. Back in early 2000's sometime, my memory sux, I lost power for 9 days due to an ice storm, in the same MH. But, for emergency, I had bought a large kerosene heater, that had not been used in the 8 yrs I had it. So with that, I stayed warm and cooked on a big gas grill with side burner. Sent son and gf to a hotel on day 4, for 2 days, as they were complaining. :lol: Got tired of hearing it! :lol: They thought the 'camping' was fine the first 2 days, then grew testy. :lol: That's the problem here, no kerosene heaters allowed, thank God! I know half the people in this building are too stupid to use them! Would burn the building down! And of course, no grill.

So the plan is this....if power goes during the night and is not back up by noon tomorrow, I call and find the nearest hotel room with power, call son and they will come get me and my babies and take me in their 4 wheel drive Jeep. He has forbidden me to try to go in my old rear wheel drive Explorer, knowing I have had ONLY front wheel drive since 1975. :lol: I have NEVER driven on bad roads in a rear wheel drive vehicle. Good Idea! :lol:

News says DOT is trying to get out and add more salt, so the graders can come thru and break up the ice. Hope I don't have to go anywhere tomorrow. :o

Stay safe and warm, Deb. Yeah, it works the one way (divide the total dose by 3 to get TID) but not the other direction. It looks like he is trying to stretch from 8 to 10 so maybe he'll continue on to 12. Paws crossed.
 
Yeah Sue, he seems to want 10 hr cycles and I do expect him to continue on and make it to 12. He's had great numbers! :thumbup I couldn't be happier with his numbers. He's stayed predominately below renal threshold and that has always been my goal for him. I don't care if he stays on insulin as long as he stays at a level that is healthy and not damaging to his organs.

My county has been very lucky so far, only 34 power outings in my county as of now. Considering there are several counties with 10's of thousands out of power.
