What a nice surprise this morning! I was shocked last night to get a 133 at +7.5. I probably should have rechecked but I was tired and alone with the baby. But this morning's AMPS confirmed the bounce has probably broken.

So...I want to see what Cobb's numbers look like today, but I'm thinking of a slight dosecrease to edge him down into green. He has gotten close so I don't want to do too much but at 13 units I know .25 really isn't a lot of extra insulin. See my conundrum? I'd love your input on the balancing act I'm about to enter into. Not sure if I'll increase tonight either way. Matt is still at the hotel, and it's just me and the baby and I don't want to risk him going too low and my attention have to be split too much. So the soonest I would increase is probably tomorrow morning.

It is sleeting and snowing already. I think I have an inch already in my backyard and several more inches are on the way - along with ice. Greeeeaaattt.

Good instincts on your part. I think you can increase at pretty much any time. Scrolling through Cobb's SS is very telling. His numbers are looking SO much better!

Please stay safe. The forecast for your area sounds dreadful.

Hi guys .. no dosing advice from me .. I can understand not wanting to be overwhelmed with low numbers and a baby .. I sure hope you guys all stay safe down that way .. have a great day!

i agree on an increase for Cobb.
regarding 0.25u vs. 0.5u - I'm thinking 0.5u may be better - to keep you in front of the numbers.
If it's too much Cobb will let you know and then you could back off 0.25u.

The weather system is heading our way and expected to arrive in Maryland tonight - our governor has already declared a state off emergency. . .

Sandy, that's what my gut was saying as well. Seeing where his numbers are today, I wish I'd increased this morning. But I may go ahead and do it tonight anyway. I was hoping for another blue surf, but it looks like Cobb has different plans.

Cobb got a lot of (blue) mileage out of this dose - 13 turned out to be a lucky number!

I know you are concerned about holding down the fort single-handedly tonight and it's and important consideration.
Looking at his ss I don't see Cobb having significant action on the first cycle of any new dose so it is unlikely that you will see action on the overnight if you increase tonight.
Not impossible though. . . . :cool:

BTW - did you decide to stop placing column headers every 7 days?
(personally I like them for many reasons, one being it's easier to count days quickly) ;-)

I didn't stop doing it on purpose! Just got behind probably.

He doesn't historically have a lot of action on the first dose. And if he's trying to climb, it might at least keep him flat. I'll probably bump it up .5 tonight and see where that takes us. If it's active, it's active. I'd rather him be in some healing numbers as much as possible!

Good luck with the dosecrease. I think I'd stick to .5U increases unless you were getting greens and just trying to tweak them down a bit.

Stay warm there. It seems so strange for Atlanta to be having all that weather when we are sunny and almost 50 here. :o I hope Matt can come home soon.
 
I increased to 13.5 tonight. No need keeping Cobb higher than necessary. If it's an all nighter, so be it.

I love that Cobb is feeling better but I swear he is egging on Matty and then turning around and hissing. I need the cat whisperer!!!
