Thank you for the healing vines and prayers. I wish I could say Blackie is improving, but it just isn't happening. I'm sending prayers out to Claudia & Rocket and Cheryl & Whiskers and to any other ailling kitties.
Looks like Blackie is still bouncing. I should have tested him yesterday after his +6 - who knows how low he went. I hope he'll come down a little today. He is not eating well today and I have tried several different foods. I'm going to Petsmart later today and pick up some new untried foods like Proplan. I may pick up some chicken thighs too at Claudia's suggestion. Blackie seems fine in his behavior - he's purring and cleaning himself. He is peeing more, but I think that's the pred.
I made an appt for more bloodwork for Blackie on Tuesday. I'm going to ask for a full CBC and kidney panel. Is there anything else I should ask for?
To explain about him peeing in my plant tray - the trays are for orchids, so there is a 2" deep tray with a plastic grate over it. It looks very similar to the Breeze box, so I think Blackie just got confused. Yesterday I removed all of the trays on the bottom shelf except the one that has his bed on it. He hasn't peed in that place since, so I hope that fixed the problem.
I am delaying my locked room experiment until Monday. I'm going to get out my one tray auto feeder and set it for +4 and keep Blackie locked in the bedroom/bathroom from the time DH goes to tbp until he comes home from lunch. We'll see if Blackie will eat the food without someone putting him right in front of it. It just isn't practical to have my MIL come over every single morning to feed him.
