Hi everyone,
Sid had a little bit of a rough night last night. He seemed pretty lethargic. Today he perked up a bit and even chased the laser light - very briefly, but still.
I also updated more of his SS. I noticed that he doesn't start coming down until +3 to +4 on the Prozinc so I posted a question to that group about using a bit of R to bring him down to figure out exactly what time I should give him some. I have been giving Sid R pretty regularly in addition to the Prozinc - I know to be very careful with it, but I noticed that it only brings his numbers down for 2 hours and that is it. I give him a super small amount. today he probably could have used a bit more because he stayed in the 400s until PMPS +4. He is pretty funny because he likes that Max Cal and has eaten a fair amount of it on his own. I did put some in his tube this morning after straining it thanks to Karrie's advice.
I apologize if I've missed answering some questions. Desi asked if he is getting B-12 - yes, he is. I did update his profile finally for the meds he is on too. Linda asked if he had black stool to indicate possible internal bleeding (causing the anemia) - no he does not. His stool is liquid diarrhea though and we started on metronidazole for that.
I put boxes around the bottom of my bed to prevent Sid from hiding under there. Civvie Ben has been spending his time having a grand old time chewing on the boxes, spitting out pieces of cardboard all over the carpet, and completely getting the boxes in disarray so if Sid wanted to get under the bed, he very easily could. Ben pulls them away from the bed and turns them upside down and sideways. Sid hasn't really tried to get under the bed lately; he's been sleeping on the couch or hiding on the cat tree.
