MINI RECAP:
AMPS 125 NADIR 74
PMPS 112 NADI 96

Last night's +6 of 153 might have been a bad test as he was 96 at +3.75 and 153 now. Either that or he surfed mid 150's all night. No poop yesterday but success this morning. He is maintaining 15 lbs 12 1/2 oz since he lost after his dental. He wa 16 lb 3 oz just two weeks ago. He continues to go to his water dish more than usual. He didn't come in to me for brushing and head butts after his baby food this morning so I guess he's not feeling as well as he was. Vet recheck this afternoon.

Sorry you didn't get your head butts this morning! Maybe Max knows it's "vet check" day?

Little does he know that by acting like he doesn't feel good, he'll just get poked and prodded more!

Come on dear Max...snap out of it!! You don't want to worry your mamabean!

Sending more good vetty vines

Well, vetty day to Mr. Max means to dive! Now he needs to be fed which means any blood tests would be meaningless unless my vet wants the thyroid rechecked.

We just ran a panel two weeks ago so that wouldn't be necessary. An fPL wouldn't be accurate when eating so close to running it. They thyroid test doesn't require fasting.

yikes he is still dropping but thank goodness he is eating the hc I putout. I need to leave for the vet in 8 minutes.

Max, you are a brat on your timing! Sending tons of good vetty vines.

My last wellness checkup the person at the front desk left a message that Neko needed to be fasted. I called back and reminded them that she was diabetic (and had been for over three years ) then they said not to worry about the fasting.

We are back. His BG was up to 115 there at +7.5. His mouth is healing well and no temp. He checked his eyes over really well and palpated him well to check for pain but Max didn't flinch. He gave him fluids and felt that I shouldn't need to give him ondansetron for more than another day or two. I'm to call if isn't back to normal after the weekend. He didn't run the fPL because we wouldn't do anything differently if what we both suspect was confirmed. His back is wet so he probably leaked after the fluids. I gave him lots of his favorite hc soulistic triple harmony before we left for our appointment and I guess it worked a little too well or else the vet visit contributed. It will be interesting to see what he does tonight.

Max finally stopped meowing and pacing and went to sleep unde my bed. He turned down fd treats before that so maybe he is just full and tired.

I'm glad the vetty visit went well. Hopefully Max will start feeling better this weekend. They have bad timing on those low numbers don't they.

It was a big day for the little fella, all that splashing around in the lagoon and a vetty visit to boot - hope he's feeling more himself tomorrow. Glad everything went well :)

Might want to get Max a wristwatch. Poor guy probably has to crane his head uncomfortably to read those wall clocks. He can, without question, tell time. Stinker!

Sounds like all went well at the vet. 'Cept maybe for the leaking!

Back to being Max, Max.

Vines, Elise.

Marilyn and Polly

Thanks for the visits Serryn, Carla, and Marilyn. My vet says he's never had anyone manage diabetes better and it's thanks to the FDMB. I hope he's right about the pancreatitis disappearing soon.

Glad you got a good vetty visit in Elise- hope your vet is right about the P-titis being gone! :bighug: Did he say anything about the constipation- i.e.was it caused by the ondansetron? Boy, what a thing to bring up before dinnertime, sorry...:oops:

I hope he is right too. I'm not so sure. Sometimes I talk too much with my vet and he doesn't talk much. I told him I was giving miralax twice a day because of the ondansetron and he just wrote it down. He felt I shouldn't add bupe as it might set him back. He said the growling might have been due to the bupe and he really felt Max isn't in pain. Max just ate his baby food but wouldn't touch the fd. Strange.

I'm not at all surprised that he is bouncing.

sounds like a pretty good vetty visit - i'd bet he fell asleep afterwards just because it is stressful to go to the vet.

sending feel good vibes to our little buddy!
