Not trying to figure him out. Hope to get more data for his spreadsheet and maybe a curve today.

I am doing my best to stay strong and stay away from coffee and diet pepsi max so I can finally get blood work done. I may lose the rest of the day to a migraine (an evil one has hit every time I've had blood work done - due to neck tension). I have ice water in a coffee mug but its just not the same :YMSIGH:

Re: 2/11 Maverick AMPS 75.6

Good luck with the blood work. I hear you on the neck tension -- that is one of my major problems and I also get wicked headaches when my neck is terrible. Maverick is looking fabulous this AM!

Re: 2/11 Maverick AMPS 75.6

Good morning, nice AMPS #! Yay for Maverick..
Goodness from me to you staying away from the coffee & Diet Pepsi Max.. stuff is bad for you anyway.. easy for me to say, eh? I don't drink either.. I try to always drink water, eventually you will not even miss it ;-)
Have a great day Karrie... I hope you don't get any head or neck pain!

Re: 2/11 Maverick AMPS 75.6

migraines are the worst! Hope the blood work goes well and pain free.

Maverick is looking good this morning, hope you both enjoy your Friday

Re: 2/11 Maverick AMPS 75.6

Oh, poor Karrie, ice water, in place of coffee. Yuck! No headache, no headache, no headache.
What a nice start for Maverick's day. Is he going to let you go out in time?

Re: 2/11 Maverick AMPS 75.6

Hi Karrie, I agree, ice water is no substitute for coffee! Do you by any chance have a bike helmet? A friend of mine who has bad migraines finds that if she puts an ice pack inside her helmet and wears it all day, the headache goes away. The helmet keeps the ice pack in place. In any event, the sooner you de-tox, the sooner you can get your blood work done, and the sooner you can go back to your coffee!! (I gave up coffee once for 6 months; I really missed it because I love coffee; so I decided that the reason I gave it up--which I can't even remember anymore--wasn't enough to deprive myself of one of life's pleasures!)
Great AMPS for Mav. today.
Thanks for all your encouragement in Rusty's condo.
Feel better,

Ella & Rusty

Re: 2/11 Maverick AMPS 75.6

(((Karrie))) my heart goes out to you. No coffee?? ugh!
I am with Ella...I love my coffee. But enough talk about that...
Let's talk about the aspertame that is in the diet soda...try to stay away from that...it is addictive, ya know....and very, very bad for you.

I hope you have good results from the blood work...hang in there. Hoping that you do not get a migraine after all...
Beautiful AMPS for Maverick!

Re: 2/11 Maverick AMPS 75.6

Good luck - do you mean 27 people ahead of you! As soon as you're done, pull into the closest place for a coffee - 7 Eleven has good coffee and McDonalds.

Re: 2/11 Maverick AMPS 75.6

nice amps for maverick! GO MAV!

bummer on the migraine - nice idea with the helmet - i would guess maybe that would help? Hang in there - you can do it! Get the BW done, and then you can have all the ~O) you want. :-D I gave it up nice too - but really missed it, as I really love the stuff. I too now cannot remember the reason I stopped...

Have a great day guys!

Re: 2/11 Maverick AMPS 75.6

My dogs Urea/Crea came back as elevated. Not sure if its all her heart meds, or her heart insufficiency or an undiagnosed kidney infection. It took months for her vet to diagnose a bladder infection (ecoli) which we haven't gotten rid of yet. She started on baytril last night. So the vet is going to be talking to her cardiologist on how to figure out what is going on. The lasix makes the urine very dilute. I am wishing its the infection. Managing a dog with congestive heart failure AND kidney issues will be much more difficult for her. I'm glad we got the blood work done yesterday now. It was just in case the cardiologist requested it.

It sounds like you are ahead of the game by getting the bloodwork done, and it will save time for when the cardiologist needs it. Hugs and good thoughts. I hope you were able to get the bloodwork done and get that tall cup of coffee.

Re: 2/11 Maverick AMPS 75.6

Hope your Pup feels better soon! Got the best mom bean to care for her!
Hope the Healing vines we are sending work for her!

No coffee--I was banned from real coffee, long ago(OMG) so I started to drink jasmine tea, which I buy on line, as even decaf coffee bothered my tummy...I do drink it when I go out..--
Hope your headches go far far away!!! Hugs & we all know your cake will be perfect! :-D

You guys really are the best. Thank you for being so awesome.

Waiting for my membership for the k9 kidney diet group to be approved. I will be spending the weekend reading up on the best home made diet for her. So much to think about. I've PM'd Claudia to find out where she gets her binders for Rocket. If anyone has any ideas in Canada, please let me know.

Maverick has an awesome PMPS. Crazy we shot a 75 and the boy doesn't go low. Some of you shoot 400s and they go low.

I found out that the freeze dried chicken is really high in phosphorous. So no more of this for the dog. And Maverick with only one kidney, I think I'm done with this for him too. I'm going to try parmesan cheese for him instead.

Jeez what kind of BW requires no coffee   I have had a zillion things ran and have never had to stay away from that thank goodness :-D ~O) ~O) hope your BW is OK and nice numbers for Maverick today

I know. Crazy huh. Not sure why - I do have fatigue as my main complaint so maybe its related to that.
The bike helmet is a great idea. I actually put a pillow on my head to add pressure - never thought of putting an ice pack under it. I can do both, Ice and pressure ohmygod_smile

I have to give up diet pepsi first. Especially because its head line news that it increases risk of heart and stroke issues by 48%. Once I'm done my big stash (a months worth or so lol) I'm done forever. I hate water though ohmygod_smile ohmygod_smile ohmygod_smile Maybe I'll just put it in wine glasses and pretend its wine.

Maverick is looking good today!

I gave up coke about a month ago. I've cheated a few times since and I'm still not sure how I feel yet about giving it up.

Hope it's nothing more than a kidney infection. Our CHF doggy had to go the vet today. They upgraded her arthritis to very severe. :( Congestive heart failure is bad enough on it's own.

It will not be so bad giving up the Pepsi. I used to drink Coke first thing every morning for probably 10 years (I think it is a Southern thing to drink Coke instead of coffee for breakfast) and I quit cold turkey and now am a total tea drinker. I don't miss the coke at all. You can do it!!

Check with Linda/Bear. I think she tried binders for Bear or one of her other kitties and she may know about purchasing in Canada.

You do know that stopping caffeine cold turkey (like today) will cause a splitting headache, don't you?
