2/11 Java AMPS 293 first curve today QUESTION?

Ok today it is one week and we are going to do our first curve. I have been holding off trying to get him used to the pokes so he won't run when I come to get him. I think it will go ok but sometimes if he's had enough, he goes under the bed. We will see. So how do you do a curve with a grazer? Do you just journal what he is eating and when? I am home all day so thats why I thought today is a good day for this.
 
You can certainly log what and when he's eating. However, I don't think it really matters. If grazing is Java's normal behavior, you'll be seeing what you want to see -- what happens with BG when your kitty is behaving normally.

You can test every 2 hours or every 3 hours (mini-curve). It sounds like you may get better cooperation with a mini-curve.
 
Good luck wit the curve - and I am with what Sienne wrote - just let him do what he does. You'll then get a curve representative or a normal day. Good luck - and I hope Java cooperates.

Thanks everybody! I have struggled a bit today, two errors, but i am doing the mini-curve. It seems less stressful for him and he is being so patient. +3 305, +6 300. We are really sticking to the high 200's, low 300's. It is exactly one week since we started. I am not real concerned except for the pupils being dilated so much and he does this weird thing at night that he started when he got the pancreatitis flare. /he sits on my chest and gives me a gentle head butt to mark me I guess. Then he just sits there while I rub him but he seems a little "out of it"? kind of spacey if you KWIM? I don't know if he is telling me he needs more loving or he just feels like crap. I am going to e-mail
my vet and see what he says.

Yes I have a feeling it will be a long night. he is stumbling and dropping his rear end. I called my vet and he is going to look at his spreadsheet and call me in the morning. It seems textbook neuropathy, and this is day 7. We have been hovering around 300 so we are going to talk about raising his dose tomorrow.
