Morgaine surfed some high greens overnight and I did have to feed them so I could get some sleep but her AMPS was a reespectable 133.

She did pee on the rug a couple of times but actually used both boxes once each. she poo'd in the Dr. Elsey's and pee'd in the Feline Pine. She missed the box a little but I can see that she was clearly in it. She used Feline Pine most of her life until recently, when she began to pee on the bed. We are starting the prozac tonight. I am waiting until I can be home with her to be sure she doesn't have an adverse reaction. I also need to give it to her when her BG is high enough that if she loses her appetite she doesn't go too low. Delicate balance! Despite the use of the boxes, she is not consistent and I am just praying very hard that the prozac helps. If you have had this problem I think you know how difficult it becomes day in and day out.

I am off to a long meeting this afternoon so I will try to visit condos later. Will also update on how Morgaine does with her first dose of prozac.

Re: 2/10 Morgaine AMPS133

Fingers, paws and everything else crossable, is crossed in hopes that the prozac is just what she needs.

Re: 2/10 Morgaine AMPS133,+6 151

Morgaine got her first dose of prozac at +6. She is getting 3.5 mg 1x/daily. Her BG was 151 and she was fed some LC food. I figured that her next meal will be PMPS so we will have 6 hours to see how she responds and i always feed her and give the shot while she is chowing down so I will know if her appetite is normal.

how did morgaine do with the prozac today? i hope it's just the thing so you aren't seeing so many accidents.

we use wood stove pellets for litter, same thing as feline pine. my daughter's cat will go on the floor next to the box if he doesn't get clay litter instead when they are here visiting. cats can be finicky about their boxes, can't they?!

Re: 2/10 Morgaine AMPS133,+6 151

So far so good! We are 6 hours into the first dose. She seems less agitated and more like her old self. Too soon to know and it all could be wishful thinking but she did pee in her clay litter box and that is the first time in a week. She is eating normally. I was concerned about that because prozac can cause inappetance in humans and that would be dangerous with FD. But she chowed down and got her shot while eating. She is a bit sleepy and I expected that for a day or two but not too out of it. She isn't spacey, just mellow. I think she really needed to mellow out and so did I.  OMG! I am so tired and am praying this is going to help us.

My goal for tonight is that she can tolerate the prozac. So hopefully that is what I am seeing happen. She did get in the open cupboard where her box used to be. I now keep a pee pad there and she uses it frequently. She just sat on it and didn't use it and that is when she got in her box and pee'd. They are smart creatures. i can see her wheels turning but I am not smart enough to figure out what she is thinking.

Will give a WCR after her AMPS next cycle.

Our fingers and paws are also crossed for you guys! That is a good and hopeful update, I hope the prozac keeps her nice and mellow and LB-using!
