Not much action during the night. That usually leads to about 150-200's by mid-cycle in the day. Got an exam today so I have to leave early and get a +3.5. Leaving food in his auto feeder. Hes good this morning.

This is a bunch of crap. This treatment is becoming useless each day. I don't know whats going on but I'm thinking of raising his dose to 6.5u tonight. Can't even get a green anymore. I can't afford any tests on him cause we have no money.

Ken

whats going on dude?

talk to us, what do u see? how is Blackie?

I know this is prob something u dont wanna hear, and just tossing out things we can help u rule out...but how are the teeth? trouble eating? any possible reason to think infection?
Is Blackie still having or has had flea issues?

Please don't give up, u'v come this far, taking care of Blackie, it is very worth it.
I know it's gotta be tough with $$ issues, but things have a way of working out.

Get back to us ok?

Hes good. His teeth are in good condition, eats very well, still can jump high heights and run up the stairs. His behaviour is close to what he used to be, which is patient and quietness. We give him the Advantage flea medication monthly from February to October or November.

I don't get it, he got green a few times when he was getting around 4.25 - 4.5u but bigger doses later on didn't get much green. We're already close to finishing the first cartridge that I just bought not too long ago. If I have to keep giving him bigger doses then I'm better off getting the 10ml vials. I'm just frustrated.

I'm trying to get a job for the summer so that I can take him in and get him checked out.

Hi.. I'm a high dose mom, and I see you're high dosing in here too. I have an acrocat. That's him in my avatar pic. He gets 30u Levemir BID. Took us a long time to get here, and we've actually been as high as 40u BID. I don't have any money either, I got laid off 2 weeks after I adopted Leo, so I know how it feels. (((hugs)))

I've been studying your SS on and off all day trying to make sense of what is happening. I know you're frustrated, but I think you should go only .25u. I have been debating whether that was a good idea or if he should be held another couple cycles because I am wondering if this is the "high before the break" we're seeing. Since it might be the high before the break, I think .25u might be a safer bet for you. You've got recent blues which say you could be in trouble if you go .5u and he breaks tomorrow morning or something. One of my good friends used to say "You can't squeeze that insulin back out!" :-D

As far as tests go, I don't see classic acro in your numbers, but IAA might be in play. The closest spreadsheet to yours that I can recollect is Jan/Buddy. She's got an IAA kitty. If you've got IAA on your hands, here's the treatment: shoot insulin. IAA is a temporary thing, not a permanent condition. I'd like to review this ss for the next couple days and see if we can step up your pace a bit, and start increasing more frequently. I will warn you, it's possible we may not be able to, but if we can, I'll help you.

Hang in there, I know it's frustrating as hell.
