2/10 Bailie amps 124 +2 42 +3 57 +4 61+5 72+7 133

I only have one test strip left and I just tested Bailie and he is 43 it’s not open for another 30 mins what do I do ,

I hope someone comes along soon because I'm not the best for advice, but I believe usually they say to test every 15-20 minutes when low so that gets you about halfway through. Have any honey or karo syrup you can give to boost him up in the meanwhile?

Yes I gave gravy and I gave a little Karo syrup. My drugstore opens in 10 minutes. I have one test strip left so I’m going to take the test in five minutes and then go straight to the drugstore.

I thought I had another bottle of test strips, but I can’t find them anywhere.
 
There's also a sticky about what to do with low numbers, if that helps. My cat was low last week I believe and I gave her several mls of honey since she doesnt respond well to just a little, and it worked.

I'm always so scared of that happening, so I kind of go overboard now and always have like 5 boxes or so of strips and lancets lol. I'm glad your pharmacy will be opening soon.
 
Me personally, I don't have nerves of steel so I run my cat to the ER if she's below 60. They can give a glucose drip. But I'm also a long ways off from an ER if I need one, too, so that's part of why I run like that, to give myself time. Only had to do that once, thankfully.

I hope everything is going well! I have to get ready for work. Hope someone more knowledgeable comes by. Please be sure to update at some point. :)
 
Yikes! This happened to me once and I swore it would never happen again. I have a whole other monitor and test strips that just sit waiting in case of an emergency.
Please let us know what she tests as soon as you can.
 
I just saw this since I am in US. Were you able to get the strips? I would feed medium to high carb food if Bailie responds well to carbs. She will come down again and better to be safe for today.

I was able to get the strips and he is now 57 Thank you for responding what a nughtmare I was so scared. it’s a good thing. I didn’t get into an accident on the way there because I was speeding. And then when I got out of the drugstore and got home, I didn’t have my credit card so I lost my credit card as well. But anyways, at least he’s going up a bit now. Thanks again.

That will never happen to me again either. I was positive. I had another bottle of test strips, but I couldn’t find it anywhere. And it wasn’t where I usually keep them. I don’t know what I was thinking. It will never happen to me again. What a scare.

You are so sweet to respond. I really appreciate it. Everything is fine so far. He is going up a bit. I am afraid he’s probably going to skyrocket because I really was afraid to leave the house without making sure he was going up so I gave him lots of gravy. I even gave him a little bit of syrup.
 
Yay! Sounds like he held steady during the whole ordeal. The food boost will only last a little while, so make sure you continue checking. I wouldn't give anymore food unless he starts to go down again. The 409 on 10/1 was probably from the 43 so don't be surprised if he bounces high again after this.

Yes I won’t give anymore food unless I need to and I’m pretty sure he’s going to bounce high . That kills me . But I was so scared. Thanks for your response.:bighug:

Thank you so much Staci I appreciate that .So far so good .However I’m surprised he hasn’t gone up more with all the gravy he ate .
 
So glad you got them and you handled his feeding well until then!

Now for a deep breath and some pets for Bailie.

By the way now that Bailie is seeing many more greens are his back legs doing better? I know that was one of your biggest worries.

yes they are much better for sure . He’s not nearly as flat on his hocks raised up now . But he does have osteoarthritis. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

That is great news! Hope he surfs the rest of day and doesn't bounce too much! Mac and Bailie continue to be very similar. Mac is just starting to be more consistently in blues and greens and feels so much better. Those limes are scary but they get our boys in better BG numbers overall!

Yes they are quite similar . That’s so awesome . I’m really hoping he doesn’t bounce to high but I’m sure he will . Thanks so much for the well wishes . :bighug::bighug::bighug:
