2/1 Shadow needs eating vines

I'm all nervous again.
Shadow barely ate any thing yesterday. She's turning her nose up at all her foods. I even sprinkled bacon crumbs. ( fortiflora and freeze dried duck too)
I gave her ondansetron, waited, and then her appetite stimulant and she ate maybe 2 Tablespoons all day.

I gave her about 4 raw shrimp in the evening.....
She ate those...
I cut up 4 more and put them in Tiki cat chicken with egg. She took one lick.


I gave her ondansetron and cypro again for the night.
She probably ate 3 teaspoons of her night time food. Ignored her breakfast.
I put some dry (wysong epigen 90) just now in front of her and she ate a nibble or two and walked away.

I have some more shrimp thawing out to give her in a bit.


I have to think she's just not feeling great since she will eat the shrimp.
If her pylorus were closing off, she wouldn't eat it either.


If she continues this way all day, I will call vet on Monday and schedule the next ultrasound.
I'm not ready. I never will be but it's been a rough year already.
2014 was horrible... and it ain't getting any better so far.....
my plate runneth over......



I just moved my dgm to the nursing home. I go see her every day for at least 30 minutes.
She's frantic , rolling up and down the hall, pestering nurses. I think she hopes she'll go thru a doorway and it will lead to home. Her dementia /confusion is really bad.

Healing and feel better and appy vines for Shadow. It is never easy when they are not well. I hope things improve today.

Vines for your DGM. That too is such a difficult situation. It is awesome that you can go and spent time each day.

I'm so sorry you're having to deal with all this at once. I know how overwhelmed you must feel! When Minka is feeling lousy, I can usually get her to lap up some chicken broth, and sometimes she'll even eat the boiled chicken I put in it. Do you have a chicken breast or thigh you can boil? I'm assuming you've tried baby food? I can so relate to what you're going through and I wish I could help. I'll keep Shadow, and you, in my prayers.

Hi Rhiannon, I sure hope Shadow will start eating soon. She may just be having one of those "blah" days. Sending vines. Big, hearty-appetite vines.

I hope that your dgm will adjust to life in the nursing home. It is a huge adjustment. I hope that the staff is understanding. Good staff can make all the difference.

Shadow ate about 4 teaspoons of friskies salmon and chicken in gravy. And she ate 5 raw shrimp. but that's it.... not much for the whole day.... and after barely touching last night's fare.

Come on Girl!

I gave her 3 different bowls..... one has raw shrimp chopped up in it and she won't touch it. want's just the shrimp....
i'll go thaw out more.

I swear I say this a thousand times a day, but I blame everything on sinuses. Prayers for both of you and prayers that whatever is keeping her from eating well is "nothing" more than sinuses combines with holding out for the shrimps!!!! well...
Shadow ate 1 can last night.... so yay! maybe there is a hairball hiding somewhere.... a little this morning, and 8 raw shrimp a few hours ago.
she must have been feeling off.... but that's better news than her pylorus getting so narrow she can't eat.

but please keep the vines coming....
she's still not back to normal.

Hope your DGM gets settled in at the nursing home. That's so hard, to change the environment and be in such an unfamiliar place.
