Not much to report, possible dip at +4 today?

As a sanity check, is what I'm seeing normal? I assume I've got some sort of glucose toxicity to break through, but he's just so...flat and unmoving.

Some people refer to it as a bounce and it seems to be common after a dosage increase.
Thanks!

But just to clarify, I don't think we're bouncing...I don't think he's dropping low enough or fast enough to trigger a bounce. Your Big Kitty is seeing 200+ point drops, whereas I'm not really seeing any (at least nothing outside the 20% allotted for meter variance).

You just have not gotten to the right dose of Lantus. This is not a bounce. What insulin was he on before and what dose? I forget.

That's what I was thinking, onward and upward after a few more cycles at this dose.

We were on Vetsulin. I had him pretty well regulated at about 0.5U early last year, then everything went haywire. We thought maybe insulin went bad with fridge issues we had, switched to ProZinc because it's a little more gentle anyway. He did not feel well on ProZinc at all, totally different cat. Tried Vetsulin again, went up to 3.5 U but nothing. Decided to just attempt a return to 0.5/0.75U. Didnt work, so made the jump to Lantus again because more gentle insulin.

So - we were at 0.75U Vetsulin before switching. Recommendation from this forum was to start 0.75U Lantus.

Hindsight being 20/20, I may have needed to run the Vetsulin dose up higher. The return to 0.75U was probably dumb, but I didn't have a lot of the information that I do now.

We did have labs done in October, came back fine. Im waiting for vet to send a copy of those over so I can get it in spreadsheet. I know we're not near IAA/acro testing territory at all yet with this dose.

Thanks for the info. You aren’t on a high dose at all. Let the depot build. If you still see high flat cycles after 6 cycles past the fur shot you can increase. You do start with the same dose so you were right to start with .75.
