Good morning all! Sounds like all our kitties are keeping us on the dance floor spinning.

Copper's amps is 295. Too high. Not sure what his nadir it at night, but yesterday he got in the low 100's, almost green on a 1.0(fat). I'm hesitant to go up because he is responding to this dose and I'm not sure my meter(relion) is very reliable. Been trying to compare AT with it, but no luck the last couple of sticks. Been trying to hit the caps instead of vein. This am i definetly hit a vein. Huge drop and then he flicked and it looked like a scene from Halloween masacare movie. Blood everywhere. Had to press and hold and then retest in another ear. Same thing, big drop, but at least didn't flick and make a mess. So think i got a higher reading because of it. If it isn't the meter's, the hgih numbers and then low numbers, or whether we hit the caps or the vein. IT's always something.

Hope you all have a good day!

Yes Lori it is always something. I have had the Halloween skit a few times where Asher shakes and I have blood spatter all over me and my glasses. I guess after you do this for awhile you get used to such craziness and laugh about it. I remember being in the vets office a little over a year ago thinking “can I do this?"

I think if I were you I would stick to one unit for awhile and just keep testing
I had shakes on 3 units for WEEKS before he truly settled
Yes patience is a virtue, but hurry up and get there!

YES! Have you ever heard the phrase, "The hurrier i go, the behinder i get". That's me!!!

I think that is when the numbers remain below the "renal threshold" which I usually see stated as 250.
Also, if I understand it correctly, things show up in the blood several hours before they show up in the urine. However long it takes for the system to filter the blood and fill up the bladder. The number of hours I recall is 4-6 hours. So maybe even if his BG stayed below the line for a cycle, the urine would probably still show glucose into the next cycle. If his numbers stayed low longer, then they'd most likely not show in the urine again (until that threshold is crossed again).

+4 was 298. He hasn't moved in 4hrs. Ate 4hrs ago. So does this mean needs more insulin? Seems like he did better on the .8 than the 1u(fat). His urine glucose never has gone down even though i've seen him lower.

If you don't mind looking at his SS and see what you think. I want to go up, but now i'm thinking , lower? My meter is acting up too, and giving me whachy numbers. I compared with AT, and the At actually lower. But then again, the AT came in higher a couple of times too. So i've given up on using the AT a couple of days ago and hoping that the relion is really working correctly. I did retest the +4 and it came in at 303. So this is consistent at least.

Sorry, Lori. This is my "go to bed early" week and I missed this last night. I see you upped to 1.2 this morning, and I think that was the right call. I see a blue this cycle, which is always a good color to see!
