2/1 Bella AMPS 308 +3 278. She doesn’t like lower numbers

Bella’s has three doses of Lantus .25
( up from .1. Received 6 doses of .1)
She got as low as 189 @ + 1 and then bumped back up to 345 +5.
Still very difficult to get her to eat when her numbers go below 200.
Forced to supplement with routisserie chicken pieces. She adores it.
( it’s my last resort). Perhaps her + 5 number was related to that.
Her levels make no sense to me other than it seems as if her body over compensates when her blood sugar drops below what her body is used to.
I’ll guess it will take time.
Time and patience.
 
How is Bella today? Alls 5 Ps in place ?

Please describe the over compensation...

Keep in mind right now the focus is to avoid the formation of ketones. She needs calories, insulin, hydration ..

Has she ever had a dental? Any idea what kind of shape her teeth and gums are in?

No dental. Her teeth and gums are fine as far as I know. Vet checked her out several times.

It just seems as though as soon as her numbers go lower.. they climb.

She was retching a few minutes ago... no vomiting. I gave her half a cerenia.
Vet told me it’s only for short term use.
I didn’t want to take any chances. Is there an alternative? Pepcid?

Otherwise.. she’s been eating well
Seems alert and her usual self.
Still trying to catch her peeing....
