PMPS 197 on Relion, 248 Alpha Trak.

I have gave him 2.25 in the evening 2.00 in morning. I do not know what last night's nadair was because I went to sleep early, wasn't feeling well.

I am going to test him again at 8:30.... if some of you wouldn't mind looking at his spreadsheet. I am thinking .50 just to keep him from going too high. Kinda worried about giving more.

Thanks
D

Checking now.
2 units can drop him 200 mg/dL.
You probably don't want him to drop more than 100 mg/dL overnight if you need to sleep.
How about 0.75 - you'll have to eyeball it.

He was, however, a hundred + points lower to start. Keep an eye on that nadir ... and maybe put on a pot of coffee.
If you get a +2, you may see how fast it is/isn't dropping.

Just in case, you've got some Karo syrup and/or high carb gravied food if you need to steer his numbers?

I'll stay up and watch him. I've got the Karo and high carb treats.

I did give him 1.60 after seeing him going from 197 to 246. He is still free feeding. The vet told me last time I talked to him, that he would not drop as fast as a cat that is eating schedule meals. Do you think that is true?

No.
Small meals don't tax the pancreas for as much insulin, so if there is any residual function, it doesn't get overwhelmed when the cat grazes. Plus, the food comes in as the insulin is taking effect, so the 2 factors are matching up more evenly.
