Good morning! Shoot...I'm here all day. Get a +1 & +2 and go from there.

ETA: Any lurkers Kris is experienced and can monitor all day.

Wow - so happy to see Lantus is working so well - I know it is difficult to shoot at that low number I still have a difficult time
Thanks, Carol! Yes, I had to muster all my nerve to do it this AM! First time through any of these dosing situations is always tense ...

I hope you've been able to rest and not had too much Murphy drama while you're dealing with your mom's illness.

It's good to make notes in your comment section about how much HC and the kind you're giving him for future reference. He may have a different reaction to carbs on Lantus vs. ProZinc because of the depot. Up now Teasel...time to surf buddy.

Thanks, Karen! I have a paper notebook where I write all sorts of stuff down but having it on the SS is easy reference.

You're doing good. He's practically back in safe numbers but at this point higher would be better. Of course, don't fill him up. and depending on the next test you'll need to keep testing at minimum hourly since those carbs can wear off.

Will do. I've kept his HC portions fairly small but Teasel is a really good eater and always has been. At least I have that going for me.:)

Late to the party but WOW...what a ride! Surf Teasel surf!

Don't give your Mom a hard time! Stay on your board!

Good to see that 95. You'll need to test hourly for the next few hours without giving food unless needed. Another data gathering will be to see how long it takes for the HC to wear off.

I'm about ready for a nap soon. Are you Ok with that?

OK. Will not give any food after this most recent sugar-laced snack. I'll test again at +5 and +6 and resume food if he dives.
Go take a nap, Karen. We'll be OK. Thanks for watching over us - much appreciated!

Ok, thanks. I'll be back soon. The rule here is we encourage someone to shoot low we stay with them. Hopefully he'll just surf along and not go to high or to low again today :)

Wow Kris! Look at Teasel! Blues for the last day and now a green! This is so exciting! I'm so glad you guys switched back to Lantus. Teasel is doing so great on it!

Hope he surfs for the rest of the day. :)

When Doodles was on Lantus 99% of the time he earned reductions mostly between +3 & +4. My gut says, next time you get an almost flat or a little lower +1 is to feed him some LC to try and slow the drop. He could be a fast early dropper which is common at the beginning of Lantus cycles for many kitties.
