Blue surf since +2 yesterday AM.

This is testing my nerve! I understand the concepts: he hasn't earned a reduction yet, shoot low to stay low, flat curve at low BG, etc. I can monitor but this is stressful!

Yikes! A lime green already! Out came the high carb food with lots of sauce in it and I gave him about 2 teaspoons of it with lots of the sauce. Will test again soon.

I know this will mean a reduction in his dose tonight.

OK - will do. This is new to me because I had little to no steering needed with ProZinc. He was always too high.

Just gave him about 2 tsp more of HC with about 1/8 tsp honey added. Will test in 20-30 minutes.

You're doing good. He's practically back in safe numbers but at this point higher would be better. Of course, don't fill him up. and depending on the next test you'll need to keep testing at minimum hourly since those carbs can wear off.

Will do. I've kept his HC portions fairly small but Teasel is a really good eater and always has been. At least I have that going for me.

Got sidetracked by a phone call so it ended up being a +4 test. The honey in the HC got him up to 95. I know that's short-lived. We're still 2 hours away from his (usual) nadir around + 6 so I gave him another bit of HC with less honey in it - maybe 1/16 tsp.

When Doodles was on Lantus 99% of the time he earned reductions mostly between +3 & +4. My gut says, next time you get an almost flat or a little lower +1 is to feed him some LC to try and slow the drop. He could be a fast early dropper which is common at the beginning of Lantus cycles for many kitties.

FWIW, Doodles will come down from the carbs about 3 hrs or so afterwards. But he's a strange Dood. You're also in the second 1/2 of the cycle now so that alone will likely slow Teasel down.
