AMPS 257: gave 8% food
Left out 15% food
+4=90

Good grief! I left out 15% food this AM before I left for work, and it was gone when I got back for the AM+4 - and she was at 90! I have to go back to work, so I'm going to leave out some 13% food just to be safe, given what she did yesterday, as I think the depot is still in play today...

Quandry: How to stop the jumps to yellow before the AMPS? She usually goes up at +2, so that's no indicator, and then does a sudden dive down at +3 or +4. So if I leave out a higher carb food (15 - 16%) that might keep her in blues (as last night) - but then she'll pop back up to yellow in the AM.

Last night:
PMPS 189: 8% food
+2: 15% food
+3: 121: left out 20% food
+6: 133: no food
+9:30: 191: no food

Was the 20% too much last night at +3, I wonder? She'd already gone down so much, and the real Levemir kick comes in at +4, so I thought I'd better be safe than sorry as I knew I couldn't stay awake... And can that 20% at PM+3 last night account for the steady increase after +6, even though she didn't have access to food? I'm not sure how to figure her out, especially as I have to guess ahead of time at night so I can get some sleep in. I'd be grateful for any ideas or suggestions...

I'm kind of confused: it looks like the Levemir is lacking duration now - could that be right? I wonder if that night with the fridge door open three weeks ago did have an affect on all of my Levemir cartridges after all... or is it just food carb issues? Hmmm....

Some cats are more sensitive to high carb foods than other kitties, seems the 20% doesn't impact Girlie's BG#s that much? The SS colors do look good the last 5 days or so, this is nice to see.
She seems to do better on the high carb - until she doesn't! And I can't see a reason why, even though I look and look. Yesterday, I thought I'd see how she'd go with 6% and 8% carb and we ended up diving with the sharks...today, 13% sends her into yellow - I just don't know... even with the reduction last night, that seems a bit sudden. :banghead::confused:

PMPS 290: Well, at least she's being symmetrically sunny, I guess! Yellow AMPS and yellow PMPS... let's hope she tries a nicer colour for the morning for a change...

Also, I have heard a constipated cat will have higher numbers until they get some relief.

Cycle 3 of reduction to 0.25: Not sure whether this is a failed reduction or a bounce? Is it a bounce because she got 90 (green) this am on cycle 2?

PMPS: 290: gave 8%
+2:30 = 162: gave 13%
+3:30 = 157: gave 13%
slept through alarm
+7:30 = 252

I cancelled my flight to the U.S. - good thing I didn't tell mom I was coming home for Christmas! Just one more day at work and then I can be home for two weeks to monitor closely and try to decipher the mystery that is Girlie right now...

I am so sorry you had to cancel your flight. :bighug:

Girlie, try to be less of a mystery please!
