Morning everyone from a sunny summery New Zealand

Following the fur shot yesterday morning I have managed to earn Tyler puss his first red numbers since starting the home testing. :(

Hello from a frosty west Yorkshire:)

Don't worry about the FS,I don't necessarily think that red was a result of the FS, last night he dropped quite significantly from his Pmps, makes me think he may have even dropped lower sometime last night, resulting in a bounce.
Looks like he's recovering nicely from the red, he may surprise you yet with some nicer numbers today.

No not a bounce, this is him clearing a bounce.
95 is a nice number, but it's early in the cycle, so he may drop further.

If this were George I'd be feeding some MC or regular LC (a couple of teaspoons) and recheck again no later than +3.

MC ? Medium Carb ? LC? Low Carb ?

I fed him a little bit of Fancy Feast in Gravy which is not for him usually coz of phosphorous but I think has carbs.

Have I done right?

Yes I'll be getting up at 3am to check him

You may need to continue testing regularly until you see him rise significantly.
The fast drop may in itself trigger a bounce, that's when his liver panics and dumps glucose into his blood causing BG to rise. If that happens then you can call it a night.

But if he is still dropping you should continue monitoring until you see him rise or he is staying flat without any carbs.

If this were me I'd be planning on monitoring at least until +5/+6.

I'm just heading bout to see the outlaws, I'll try and check in, in between the cups of Yorkshire tea.

Yes that's HC, but it's OK, you'll have to see how he responds.
The HC can stay in the system for a couple of hours, so when it wears off you can see the BG drop.

How many hours till 3am?

Even though you have given HC, I would get a +3, sometimes when they clear a bounce they can gather speed and can take quite some slowing down.

It's early in the cycle and insulin action is still increasing so even with the HC he could still drop and need his BG steering some more with food.

I've been surprised by drops, but... do you have a record there?

It would be so nice if we could purely celebrate these greens, without the worry about going too low...

edit....
Have given him a little bit of food ( renal wet) & retest in another two hours. Bit muggy head coz of the hour.

Not sure what %carb that is TBH.
Only other thing I have is the IAMS grain free & honey.

Another newbie, but I see that, if it gets too low (< 65) the site recommends honey, or any kind of syrup (rub on gums). Any kind of food better than none.

Hope you don't over-react as much as I did! We do see some people even still giving insulin at 50.
