Maverick had a very nice pm cycle, with a good little run of blues and greens. I had hoped he wouldn't head up too high this morning, but there's the stinky pinky start :p. It's all good though, it's just a number, he's been playing on his cat tower, and is his usual happy self :cat:

Looking good, Mav, some more :D today perhaps?

Also, Christie, just FYI, your SS looks like it's still using the AT numbers, you have lime green over 50s on there.
I can't seem to override the colour coding, at least not from my IPad. The only time it works is when I do a half hour reading, then I can change the colour. It's a wee bit annoying :p...I could also say it was a test to see if anyone is looking at my SS o_O lol

Maverick is working his way through another wave of yellows, PMPS = 239 we'll see what the pm cycle brings. I've noticed he's developing some injection site lipomas, I alternate sides, and try not to shoot in exactly the same spot, but maybe they are too close. I guess I need to move the shots around some more. Do these absorb over time or will those areas remain poor to shoot?

Pm @Marje and Gracie she is a wizard and fixed mine when I switched meters. I'm using an iPad too, it makes dealing with SSs a bit of a challenge to say the least. ;)

I do not know the answer to that, but when Asia got really sick with teeth stuff (only we didn't know it was teeth yet) my vet and I were trying everything to get her better. I had to give her sub-q fluids for a near a month. The needles are huge and I was instructed to use the scruff, nobody said move it around to different areas. She has a (hidden) bald patch from when I did that about the size of a quarter. I guess from scar tissue or something? Fur won't grow there.

Just curious, Christie - how do you tell that there's a lipoma there?

They are actually pretty big, maybe the size of a thumbnail. There are two, one on each side around the shoulder where I inject. I can feel them when I pinch his skin/fur around the injection sites. They feel somewhat moveable, but there is definitely some "lumpiness" there, so, I've been trying to not inject into them. Maybe those general areas around his shoulders just need a little break.

Oh, I see! Have you ever tried to shoot in the flank? I shoot Girlie on the left in the morning and the right in the evening. Still, she's started getting cranky lately re: her shots - I'm not sure why. I'll check her to see if I can feel any lumpiness... I'm using the tip (was it Lizzie's?) re: marking the syringe where the bevel is, but for some reason, she's been getting cranky since I started doing that. I hope that those limpomas go away soon... do you know how long they generally last?

I might try near the flank, or go back to the scruff, it's mostly a preference of where I can nicely pinch the skin, I found some good little pockets below the shoulder blades on the sides. I hope they get absorbed, I actually don't know if they go away :( or how long they last. Mav used to flinch more around the scruff, that's when I had fur shots lol

I have a really hard time with Asia because she doesn't have loose skin, even her scruff, which is more generous, is not that loose. Toki has so much loose skin all over, you could fit another cat in there! :joyful:

I shoot Asia on the sides. I read some tips somewhere on here and I've kind of combined two of them. One was the grab the fur and roll it over your hand a little to see skin and another was just to pull on a chunk of fur to lift the skin up that way. I do the roll over part as best I can just to see the skin (even though there isn't enough loose skin to roll over on my finger), but I'm pulling the fur at the same time so I know it's going in that clearing under her skin.

They’ll absorb if you move away from them. Gracie had one in her scruff so I stayed away from the scruff for a bit and started shooting side of chest and flank and moving those around a bit. The lipoma resorbed and I started shooting scruff, chest, flank (right side in the morning and left side at night) and she never got another one. I also used the roll method and I never gave a fur shot except the time Tobey headbutted Gracie and she headbutted him back just as I shot.

I think I have editing rights. I’ll check it out.

Update: Just checked it out. You’ll have to give me an example because I didn’t have any problem with it.:confused:

Lol I have had interesting interactions between Mav and Jester, but headbutts while shooting thankfully isn't one of them (yet ). Last night's +5 =58, I've selected dark green, but it still shows up as lime?

Thanks for the feedback on lipomas, that's reassuring. I though alternating side to side would prevent them, but it looks like I need a few more locations in the mix.

@Marje and Gracie the world one is okay, but the US one is still showing like AT numbers, bright green
Thanks, ladies. I’ll fix it. That’s easy!

Girlie's skin isn't that loose, either. It's funny, too, because she's old (18), and she has what I VERY fondly refer to as old lady sag, but when it comes to getting loose skin to shoot, I have trouble. I wonder why? Asia is even older at 21 - could it be an age thing, or do some cats just have looser coats? My civvie, Max, has a very loose coat. Odd...

I wanted to try the roll over technique, but I couldn't seem to get that right...Hmmm...

Asia has always been this way, she has a little old lady sag in her undercarriage too, but I can't (and wouldn't want to) shoot there because way too much fur (she's a medium hair with a double coat). Toki is loose skinned all over, and she's always been that way too (she's 8). I don't know if body type makes a difference, but Asia is very petite and compact and Toki is super long and lean.
