I checked ur SS, just a thought, 36 or so days on current lantus pen? Although you had some nice greens in one current evening cycle this week.
Let's see what others say.

Just checked my calendar...today would be day 35 on the current pen. Maybe I'll see if his numbers start to clear up tonight, and if not I'll crack open a new pen.

I don't know why I'm being so stingy with the Lantus...right before the free coupon expired I had new vet write me a second prescription...and even though I felt mildly bad for cheating I got a second box of pens. Maybe it's because of how much money I spent on that first vial and how much I actually used (about 1/10) before it got tossed.

I wish there was an easier way to tell when the pen goes bad! I was very good about not shooting insulin back into this pen, like I did with my first vial, but there was one day that it was left at room temp for 12 hours. There's still more than half a pen left, even though I constantly draw about 6-10 units a day trying to get rid of bubbles.

just check the pen for floaties/crystals. they're hard to see. i had to hold the insulin up to a bright light while using a magnifying glass in order to see the teensy-tiny crystals forming.
i was looking at bandit's ss... i think there's enough room to put a little bit of fat on the dose (slightly more than 1u, but definitely less than 1.25u). i think that extra drop of insulin will help bring the whole range down...
