may I have some information please.
I'm posting on this forum as I believe some questions I have might be relevant to any insulin but the one I'm using is Hypurin UK and we only have 2 people and 2 cats on it so there isn't much data.
First of all I'm not sure if my insulin is good to use longer than 28 days after first opening but it is stored properly in the fridge.
Another thing I noticed is my cat's BG goes up after AM shot even when I test at +4 or +5.
I can't figure out the onset, nadir and duration because it looks like not much is happening. For so many days he just stays flat and high.
My insulin is supposed to be very long lasting but I can't see duration. Of course I've read that ECIS so my cat can metabolise it quickly. But how do you figure that out if the numbers stay as they are?
I think I've read here everything I should about FD and ways of treating it but still feel very confused what these numbers mean.
I would prefer to understand that better otherwise it feels like I'm moving in circles without sense of direction.
I have 2 lovely members giving me dosing advice but I don't feel very comfortable to pester them all the time.
I'm not sure how to alert them at the moment so please @Elizabeth and Bertie and @Dr Schrodinger (Oh, I think I've done it! Yes?This is how you do it?) chime in if you have time. I know Eliz is having a bit of a difficult time at the moment so maybe Juliet would be able to give me some thoughts which I'll be most grateful for.
Best regards and for everybody and lots of cuddles for all the cats here contributing to better treatment of FD
