A couple of days into her increase, mixed results so far. I ran a curve on day 1, cos I could.

She had a really high PMPS yesterday, don't know if I stuffed up the AM dose, or if she she went lower during the day and bounced. She had no symptoms but if she had a "good" low number that might still have bounced her.

I'm at home for at least some of today so will try to get some more data points today as well, I was home yesterday but she doesn't love curve days so let her off the hook as I did one the day before and then regretted it when I saw her PMPS, so will get some today.

Thanks to everyone who cheered me on for doing the increase.

Without any tests between the preshots, all we can do is guess why the higher PMPS tonight. It's a good habit to get into grabbing a test right before you go to bed every night. Many cats go lower at night, and that would give you a better idea how she's doing on the dose.

One other possibility for higher numbers for the PMPS, is a phenomenon we call New Dose Wonkiness. NDW is a cycle or two of higher numbers shortly after an increase, we aren't sure why, but possibly as the depot rebuilds.

Thank you Wendy! I was in bed by +2 last night, but I'm trying to get bedtime tests when I'm up late enough.

Her PMPS was much more satisfactory tonight, so that's a huge relief! Interesting about the NDW too!

Sometimes I wonder if I'm just not administering it as well as I could be, like not getting it in properly. Maybe that makes no sense. I'll try for the 12mm needles for the next box and see if that helps - I didn't notice it made a difference last timeI had 12mm but happy to try again (I get whatever the pharmacy has in stock and it's not always the same).

+2 now and she's just eaten a snack and I'm about to go to bed. I will grab a test anyway though!

If you go to bed at +2, that's a great time to grab a before bed test. If you see the +2 is quite a bit lower than PMPS, that's a sign of a more active cycle that may need extra monitoring, or at least leaving extra food out to keep her safe.
