Good Morning, Everyone,

5 degrees F. here this morning--pretty cold for December. I'm supposed to go on a snowshoe climb of a small mountain this afternoon. We'll see. Sure not used to the frigid cold yet.
Rusty has his nice long fur coat to keep him warm (and he has his beans to surround him while he sleeps in a nice depression in the quilt)! We all had a good night. Rusty ate all of the food left out. This morning a good play with "Big Bug" and a paper bag (I taped the end of Big Bug with Ripstop cloth tape and now I feel better about his vigorous play with this toy ("Big Bug", for those of you who asked, is our name for the "Cat Dancer" toy: 5 small cardboard rods on the end of a bent wire. It's an interactive toy (not for the cat to play with by himself), and encourages jumping and pouncing. It's a "fitness" gym for cats. We have 4 Ps today and are waiting on the 5th. Good test this morning (only 1 poke!) and a good shot (I think).
So, everyone stay warm today. Back later. Have to make a decision about the snowshoe climb (Edward probably won't do it because of his eyesight; he does better on more level trails).

Good morning guys! Wow, sounds chilly over there .. good thing rusty has such a nice furcoat and loving home to keep him warm ... the cat gym sounds like a pretty cool toy .. good luck on the climb if you decide to make it .. have a great day guys!

What a hearty soul you are. I vote NO... LOL. but that is the Floridian voting.
I think you should stay IN and play with Rusty! BRrrrr....that is so cold....Oh, now I am freezing ....

5 wow I can remember when I hiked no matter what the temp now that cold bothers me even more then it used too I stay in and exercise indoors when its really cold yeah I know its wimpy :lol: love hiking but just hate hate winter great amps for Rusty hope you have fun doing the snowshoe thing

it's cold here too...13F expected snow and a high of 25F!! not bad...seems like we are warmer than you over there!!! have a good Thursday and a nice hike!

ooooo - i am SO THERE! Snowshoe hiking in sunny cold weather - primo stuff!: layer well and enjoy all the gorgeous-ness :-D :-D 5 is cold though, teens are better. HAVE FUN!

and onto the serious stuff: nice morning for Rusty! It is good to read that testing is easier, shooting is going well, Rusty is happy. I do believe that he likes his forever home. Great WCR.

Hey Rusty! You wanna get together? Your bean is going snowshoeing? maybe we could do out own little snowshoe hike. Hmmmmm - I've got long fur, you've got long fur - piece of cake! hmmmmm - we could make more hot tuna toddy's... :-D See you!! ~~ Mannie

Nice AMPS, I hope you have a good hike. Ah, I remember the Days! Before we move to CA and my blood thinned. :lol: WE used to think 10º was too warm to XC ski. Now I look t that and shudder.

Oh those Floridans!! They complain when it's 60, and we have our jackets off! :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: Blood really does thin!
New Yorkers are tough!! Mid west & upper west pacific too!! Cold is beautiful, clear & crisp air--No germs, pollen, or allergins(they freeze :lol: ohmygod_smile )
If you are dressed warm you dont even feel it & Ed & Ella have Rusty's beautiful coat & Love to keep them warm!

Rusty, Me likes to be cuddly warm like you--My beans dont have no fur, so their skin is very warm! Me likey!--If you gets cold, tell your beans to take you to the city!!

it's a frigid day here as well. If you go out bundle up and protect yourself against those elements!

Sounds like Rusty is becoming more confident in your testing skills. What a great start to your day. I'm glad you and Edward keep him warm all night. Have fun snowshoe hiking and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Be warm.

Only 45 here today but cloudy and very humid resembles what I used to call "looks like snow" when I live up north. Tough on us Floridians when we are used to 85-95. I think I have water in my veins.

Ella..great numbers for Rusty and congrats on the single poke and shot!!! YIPPEEE!!!! Gracie said she had a wonderful time at your place today but the snow was cold and she wasn't too crazy about the little snowshoes she had to wear on all four feet. She did like the fireplace and the warm drinks!! AND Rusty...she said he's so charming but she thinks he really likes Curry!

Great numbers for Rusty today. He really is doing well on the Lev. I don't like the cold either, but at least you had some sun. I hope you have a good evening Ella.

Hi again Everyone, and good evening,

Rusty and Edward had a nice afternoon while I was out snowshoeing on the mountain. Rusty "helped" Edward with his paper and they had a game of "Big Bug". (Thanks for the tip about Airspinners, WCF. It looks like something he would really enjoy and I will order one tomorrow). Rusty ate a good Wellness turkey dinner and now is helping me by sitting on the camp chair next to my desk. Today he realized that we have a cellar (Edward forgot to close the cellar door when he went down for something). Now that Rusty has seen the cellar, he wants to go back and sits next to the door (but he doesn't pound on it, like Stu did)! I don't mind that he goes down there occasionally, but not alone, and not now because it is a bit untidy (to say the least). And, I don't want the spider webs to be disturbed: they do a great job.

My hike on showshoes was beautiful. We didn't even feel the cold. There was some sun. The evergreen trees were laden with the new snow. It was a winter fairyland. We were out for about 2 1/2 hours. I fell 3 times (by stepping on one snowshoe with the other and therefore tripping myself!). It always takes a few outings to get used to walking on them again.

It looks like Rusty has been surfing in the greens since last night! It's so sweet that Edward and Rusty had some time for male bonding!!

What a fantastic day - for you and for the boys. Sounds like Edward has found himself an assistant. :-D I remember the stories of Stu and the cellar - you might have a whole new set brewing. :lol:

And yes - what great numbers 0 so regulated Rusty is! SWEET! :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

Your snowshoe hike sounds very nice - too bad you fell, but with all that new snow I bet it didn't hurt a bit. :-D wow - I have this great mental image...
