Yesterday. Ruby ambushed me last night with a 49 after a higher +1 than PMPS, wasting little time in telling me that she did not like our dose increase yesterday. So we're back to 1.25 units now. She's also been eating well--I do believe that her boredom with FF was the cause of her inappetence. What a finicky cat!

A successful soft poop was just produced with minimal crying and fussing around the litterbox! I stopped the pumpkin for the last few days in case that was causing her to avoid her food, leaving just the S. boulardii for her constipation. It's working well! Hooray for good soft poops! I got the Jarrow brand of S. boulardii with MOS and sprinkle about ¼ capsule twice a day into Ruby's food. Works better than Miralax and it seems like a much more natural solution.

Congrats on the reduction! Yeah that +1 isn't always a crystal ball...the +2 and +3 are better indicators of the cycle. I'm sure you've read this at some point but the data ready post has a good paragraph on +1s.

And hurray for eating! And hurray for poop! So much to celebrate :cat::cat::cat:

The feeding instructions on the packaging are too generic. No wonder you were worried Ruby wasn't eating enough. :bighug: I don't think vets get much nutrition training, in my experience.

Ruby has about as much energy as Butters, I see.:p I like to say Butters only gets up off the couch to go lay on the bed, and only gets up off the bed to go lay on the couch. They're about ten feet away from each other. LOL. Sometimes I will make her chase me for treats by shaking a treat bag and running between the couch and bed, just so she gets a little bit of exercise.

Congrats on the reduction. Do you have a digital scale? I use the scale to determine how much to feed my two. They are young and still get way less than the packages. I feed raw and noticed that regardless of which protein I feed , the suggested amount t to feed is 4 oz. Well an oz of lamb is 58 calories and an oz of rabbit is 34 calories. ;)

To be fair to Ruby, she does occasionally do zoomies around the apartment with Olive, and if I get around to it, I drag a piece of kitchen twine up and down the hallways for her to get her hunting jollies out. So not totally throw pillow level, but for sure she's not scaling window curtains like she did when she was a kitten!

I do have a digital scale that I use for weighing packages for the post office but never thought about using it for weighing Ruby's food. I can keep tabs better on actual calories consumed and not guesstimate how much of a can she gets. That's a brilliant idea, thank you Elise!
 
I weigh the girls on the scale. My food comes in 1 oz pieces. But I have weighed the food and meds. I got a special scale when Tiffany was diagnosed with lymphoma and it came in handy when I had to cut Max’s meds.

I don't think I'd be able to weigh the cats with it as I think the limit on this scale is maybe 5 lbs. I weigh myself on a bathroom scale then pick up Ruby to subtract the difference. It's been hard to face my own weight given the quarantine 15 I've gained :p but I'll do anything for Ruby. ;)
 
I use a digital baby scale. It’s much more accurate that way and in between they take turns sleeping on it. As babies they shared it. Amazon has many and so died eBay. They run about $40.

I weighed her: 11.6 lbs, up .4 lbs since November 25. So I've been fretting about her eating for no reason; if anything I might think about scaling her feeding back a little!

PMPS = 69. A little surprised to see such a low PMPS, thought she might be on the rise since +7. You're always keeping me on my toes, Ruby! Will get +1.
