Well all those carbs worked, BUT for this morning and not soon enough last night. Now let's see what today and tonight bring.

My DM does have another UTI and started antibiotics yesterday. I hope she isn't too angry when we meet a candidate for weekend caregiving this morning.

Continued vines, prayers, and strength for Tricia and her four, Amy and her DF and all others in need today.

It's a balancing act with Max for sure! Here's hoping for a good cycle today: not a nail-biter.

Sorry Max is driving you crazy with his cycles. I hope he gives you a break tonight. Sending prayers for your mom. I hope things go well with the caregiver interview.

Thanks for the bisits Ella, Marilyn, and Carla. We liked the CG very much and will try her this weekend.

Max might have cleared the bounce today but who knows. I'd love to find a green not too dramatic dose.

I didn't see yesterday's condo - did you carb him last night so you could sleep? I surely wouldn't blame you - you've been on duty nonstop for too long. I'd just add it to his ss notes, though, if that's the story.

Looks like he's on his way back down already this afternoon.

Sorry to hear about your mom's UTI. I wonder if she just doesn't drink enough to keep bacteria from growing. My mom kept getting them too when she was in the nursing home after her stroke. They are hard on the body. Glad you like the potential new CG. So important to have someone you both like. Adding a few buckets of vines on to the shipment your way. :YMHUG:

I hope it works out with the new CG this weekend and I hope the antibiotic works for your mom-sending tons and tons of vines your way! What are you using for HC these days? Julie, I did start giving Max carbs when he was at 55 at +3. He had already taken a dive so it didn't help me to get to bed any earlier. I stopped testing with a 61 around +6. Should I have given him 2-3 oz all at once to get him to go up quicker? It's something I've never done before. I kept testing and feeding hourly and although he didn't go down any more he didn't come up much until after I went to bed.

Ruth for hc I give him Soulistic Triple Harmony pouches or the tuna and pumpkin or chicken and pumpkin and add a few drops of karo. He really likes it and will eat it almost always. I'm down to my last pouch and need to find some tomorrow. They only sell it at Petco and dthe one by me often sells out. He also got some sliced ff chicken which is high carb last night. I don't like to use it because of the grains but I wanted to save one Soulistic for tonight.

Just in case Max decides he wants to dive one me again, how do you guys carb them up to keep them up??? I know how to get him up enough so he doesn't drop but not how to get him up so I can safely get to sleep before +6 or 7.He just might decide to do it on his own since so far he isn't hungry. Then again he often decides to eat at +1/2. Thanks for the surf request for Max, Amy.

Elise, thanks, I will have to look for that and I need to get to Petco soon anyway. I don't feed FF Gravy Lovers anymore either because it's also high in phosphorus. What are you feeding for the PMPS meal? I have been feeding Wellness Core, knowing it is 8% carbs. Tiger gets one ounce at +1. +2. The reason i am trying this is to prevent any quick drops, but that night when Tiger kept diving on me, I finally put probably 1/4 cup out and laced it with a bit of karo. :oops: It was 3:00am and I just had to go to bed. ohmygod_smile I'm guessing on your late nights are you feeding LC with each test to keep him surfing?

Hi Ruth. I give Max ff classics 3-4% at am/pmps and +1+2. If he starts to drop I then switch to Trader joes's 9% turkey and giblets and give that at +3 and then see what he does. I start with the hc if he gets into the low 60;s or hc+karo if he gets under 60. What time do you give Tiger's shots? I give Max his at 6:30 so that hopefully I am done feeding and testing by 2:30 at the latest. Then 6:15 comes way too fast!

I just gave him some 9% at +2.75 as he is just over 100 and I think will likely head down from here.
 
Looks like we have a chance at holding the reducie but I didn't really say that anti-jinx. Now please not much lower so I can go to sleep in an hour.
 
I don't recall ever just trying to abort punkin's cycle. We never had the constant greens that you're dealing with. So I'm no help with that.
 
The closest I've get to aborting a cycle is when Neko is lowish green at 3:30 in the morning, and I want to get some sleep. I give her enough HC (Merck Cowboy Cookout) to get her over 100. If she's over 100 at that point, it's late enough in the cycle that she won't get into below 50 range. She may still go down into green, but not the danger zone.

It does indeed look like Max might hold the reduction this time. :-D
 
Thanks Julie and Wendy. I used to get Max up to at least the 70's with hc+karo a couple of times. I used to then think that I should't have given so much as he would jump from there to at least double that if not more in a couple of hours. That didn't happen last night and I think perhaps it was because he still had depot and also was ready for a reduction. Just guessing of course. I guess I should know more in the next day or so. I'll ask Marje about aborting the cycle tomorrow as i know she has done it with Gracie. Too tired to look at her ss to figure it out. Have a nice rest of the night you two.
 
Marje is working tomorrow, so you might have to wait until Thursday for a reply. I hope Max lets you get some sleep tonight.
 
Thanks, Wendy. I'll look over her ss tomorrow. I just gave him a little more 9% instead of 3% and am going to chance sleep. I think he will be okay.

Your poor DM! She's been through so much, and now another UTI. I wouldn't blame her for being cranky! I hope it works out with the new caregiver. Sending lots more healing vines her way.
