Full disclosure: This BG of 98 comes after Maggie hasn't had pred since 12/7 AM. Last time I stopped the pred she went nearly a month before her asthma symptoms worsened and I restarted the pred. Regardless, it's nice to see a green AMPS...

I saw the number before I read your post and was happy dancing already! I hope she can do okay without the pred. Are there no other alternatives that can help her besides that (I'm already assuming you'd know or have tried them, but just asking)? Sending so many good breathing vines to Maggie.

I'm not aware of anything else for the asthma. Often with asthma a vet will start with pred to get it under control, then the goal is to start using a Ventolin inhaler and taper off the pred. We've tapered off the pred to a mere fraction of what she used to take, but completely getting off has been problematic. Because you know, she is a stubborn cat! Thanks for the breathing vines!

I hope she won't need to go back on the pred.

Fingers and paws crossed she can go without the pred. Even so being on it her numbers are fantastic!!

Maggie ran into a table leg shortly before PMPS, so that may be why it's high... Ouch!

Maybe we will start to see more green numbers without the pred. Tons of good breathing vines!
