I hope everyone had a great weekend, and a good Sunday yesterday. I spent mine at home, with a few local hikes to add some outdoor time to a weekend full of chores and errands and general relaxation recovery time from a very busy week with the boys. Sunday was an outdoor day for me, at least in the late afternoon. We are still very cold, well, cold for us. We topped out at 31 yesterday, better than than the day before when it was 27, down to 22 at night. It ended up being a sunny day, and was actually rather nice out there, despite the temps. I did head on out, layered up as much as I could and still move  and headed on down to the Meadowdale shore, once it got out of the teens. It was impressive there yesterday. Part of the creek has iced over, sides to center, and bet it will be even better come tomorrow. Lots a great ice formations there, most were really pretty. The tides have been low too, so I have been able to walk some distance. It seems odd to hear the sand crunch when you walk on it. LOL: Frozen Sand! Anyways, sure was pretty down there, with an awesome sunset to boot too. I was home before then though. Maybe tomorrow I will stay and bring the sun down. :-D

Normalcy in MusketeerVille!   What to say about the kitties.... They have been good kitties, and even Lola! The tree went up on Saturday - that was an adventure! Yesterday morning she made maybe 5 trips up, dislodged a few branches, sniffed alot, chewed some, and then took off for a nap. I put the lights on mid-morning, and surprisingly enough she left those alone! She did however make two more trips up the tree while I put the lights on, checking out my handiwork.  She has made a few trips back to it, but has been content to sit and sleep on the chair that is next to the tree. WOW! Not one trip up it since the lights went on.  I haven't added any ornaments yet, as I'm really not too sure that is such a good idea. well, we shall see. At least as of this writing THE TREE IS STILL STANDING!!!!  When I went to bed last night she was curled up under the tree, sound asleep. I guess she has claimed it as her own. Elsa and Bug have paid it no heed. I knew Elsa wouldn't, but was really curious about Bug. He too has ignored the whole thing. Maybe that is a good thing. I put out the Tree skirt a yesterday afternoon too. That was so Mannie's thing, he loved that tree skirt. It seemed so odd not to have him sleeping there the minute I laid it out. So, here's to you big guy, as we embark on another holiday season. I hope you have found that perfect tree skirt up there at the Bridge.

Have a great day everyone! I'm not too sure what will be here today. One of those days when I shall see what comes to be. I still have Christmas Shopping to finish, at least the stuff that has to be ordered. I hope to be able to take a trek to the shore later in the day.

KITTIES! Remember: think BLUE, think GREEN cat_pet_icon

Aw, maybe Lola settled in and snoozed under the tree to honor Mannie - I bet that as soon as that skirt came out, she could feel his energy. Maybe she WILL leave the tree alone for the rest of the season now...maybe!!!! Either way, I SOOOOOO enjoyed the videos of her climbing it - boy, did she look like one very happy cat!!

Have a great day, Michelle!

Morning Amy ~O) ~O) ~O) Maybe she did! That was his blankie, after all. It just oozes Mannie vibes. I would like to think that it was to honor him. Cats are so intuitive. It will be interesting to see if she does leave the tree alone. She has since yesterday morning, but then again... I haven't attempted any ornaments yet. All those shiny dangling things may get the best of her. I agree too: putting that tree up was such fun for her. I loved the wiggling in and out on all the branches. It was just such fun! THX on today, should be a relaxing one. :-D

Good Morning Michelle
Pretty good report this morning ;-) No real destruction
Very sweet of Lola to pay homage to Mannie ♥
Enjoy your relaxing day today whatever you decide to do

Hi, Michelle, I couldn't wait to find out about the tree's status this morning. I followed the documented (video) evidence of Lola's Major Curiosity this weekend, and I'm so glad the tree is still upright :-D .
Give scritches to your 3 cuties for me, and I hope you have a great day!

Wow on the hike. Sounds cold and beautiful. :-D on Lola. What a good girl. I bet Mannie has been guiding her. Have a great day Michelle!

:thumbup YAY for the tree still being in an upright position!  Finally having access to those wonderful tree things she sees out the window must have been too much to bear on Saturday. It seems more normal now. Lola seems to be your treekitteh, she'll keep Mannie's place warm!

Have a nice relaxing day!

Morning Everyone! ~O) ~O) ~O)

Hi Pam ~O) ~O) ~O) YUPP! The tree reains in one piece. Fancy that! Thank you Lola! :-D I thought so too On Lola camping out in Mannie's spot. Message received little one. THX on today... off to shop a little, then clean, then see what happens. I dunno! ;-)

Morning Josie ~O) ~O) ~O) LOL, and yes on the tree status. The past few mornings when I get up, climb up the stairs, that's the first thing I look for, cautiously and with a little "what will I see" thoughts. It's still uptight!1, even though I've had to fix the stand a few times.... She had such fun wit it Saturday. Curiosity mostly I think, exploring... Will do on the scritchies, and the day. THX!

Hi Melissa ~O) ~O) ~O) THX on the hike - it was cold (25-30) but ever so pretty! Iced over creeks, mini falls, just very pretty. Could be on Mannie - let her explore then show her where it is really cool: sleeping under the tree. It will be fun to see how this pans out over the next few weeks.

Morning Ann ~O) ~O) ~O) That it is! with a little stand repair from the bean. Not her doing, tree is just getting old.... but upright and all branches in their correct position. Ya know I think a large part of all of this is exactly as you pout it: "Finally having access to those wonderful tree things she sees out the window must have been too much to bear on Saturday. It seems more normal now." She is very curious on so many things, and once she learns them they are accepted, unless.... she thinks they are way too much fun, then it is over and over again..... So maybe I've seen all the up the tree I will see. It will be interesting when I out some ornaments on it... I thinks o too: she is the tree kitty. It's nice to see that part of Mannie in her.

That's great the tree is still standing. I wondered what Lola would do once you got the lights on. It's surprising she's left them alone. I bet she'll be too tempted to play with the ornaments if you put them on. How sweet she was sleeping in Mannie's spot.

Isn't it funny how differently each cat reacts to a Christmas tree? I have not had one that climbed it in a while, but I have a couple that ignore it and one that bats at the low hanging stuff and sleeps on the skirt, as well as one that chews on the lower branches and then throws up on the skirt! (EWWW! :o Darned thing is dry clean only!) Have you actually turned the lights on yet? If so, perhaps Lola discovered they are hot (if they are older, not LED), and decided to leave them the heck alone!

Your hikes sound lovely. Good for you, taking time to get out and stretch your legs. I really need to do that, too. So much to do.....

Hi everyone! I hope your day has been a good one. It has been a very low key, laid back day here. I worked on some Christmas shopping, checked "that list" a dozen times, and and am so close to having that aspect of the holidays done. SWEET! I made a short trip to Picnic Point late in the afternoon. Dang - felt alot colder than it really was. Funny how there was no ice there. I can walk .5 miles south to the place I always go, and it has alot. Funny how such a short distance can make such a difference. We are still cold, but better: 32, low at 29. We still have snow predicted, tonight through noon or so tomorrow. Freezing rain too. oh what fun! I so hope it doesn't show up....40% chance, so who knows? paws crossed! I will post the Picassa link to Picnic Point in tomorrow's condo.

Hi Carla - YUpp, it still is standing tonight too. :-D :-D :-D Me too on the lights - she hasn't even tried to bat at them. I do believe though that yes, the ornaments will be too much of a temptation.  That I will try this weekend. I thought so too on the spot choice.

Hi Tricia - thanks for the visit! It is funny how each cat can be so different in how they view the tree. Lola is my first climber. Elsa likes to look at it, Bug has just left it alone. And yes, I have turned the lights on.They aren't hot, just a very slight warm touch too them. Maybe that has deterred her. We will see what happens when the ornaments go on.... THX too on the hikes, They are fun. Love the time spent outdoors.

Hi Michelle,

Lola is being such a good girl  Is she just waiting for the toys....I mean, ornaments to be hung?

Hope your weather is not too bad tomorrow - I would rather have snow than freezing rain, unless sunshine melts the ice quickly!

Have a great night!

I'm so impressed that the tree is still standing. Good job, Lola! I just got a little weepy when you mentioned Mannie on his tree skirt. Somehow, I think he's found a wonderful tree skirt on the Bridge to call his own, but I have a feeling he will sneak home every once in a while and lay on his fave skirt. He's so nostalgic. ;-) Hoping you guys don't have to deal with any freezing rain...not that we ever have to deal with that in Florida, but I can only imagine how horrible it is!!! Stay warm and enjoy your evening, Michelle!

Hi Michelle,
Late visit tonight. I'm holding my breath on the tree; and thinking of Mannie enjoying his tree skirt. I'll bet that Bug will be chillaxin' on that tree skirt soon, maybe sharing it with Lola.
Stay warm. Glad you got out to Picnic Point today.

Hugs, scritches,

Ella & Rusty (who has ignored the tree every year; it will be interesting to see what he does this year)

Hi everyone! Sorry I missed you guys last night....

Morning Jane - Yes, she is! ad I too think she is just waiting for those toys to be hung... oh boy. we lucked out on the weather - woke up to snowless, and little warmer morning. WooHOO on that! so agreed on the snow vs freezing rain. even better that we got neither.

Morning Deborah - me too on that tree. I can tell she has been upa few times, a few branches are knocked loose. but t least it remains upright. :-D I know on the weepy and that tree skirt. I have too. seems so odd not to have Mannie there. Yupp that would be cool if he pays it a visit... Expect that he may. and we got lucky - no snow, no freezing rain. YAY! oh yes on the rain thing - that is a nightmare....

Morning Ella - no worries on the late visit. I understand. I had intended to spewed time on the Board last night, found myself doing the head bob on the sofa instead.  oh me too on the tree. so far, so good! It is still upright this morning, though I can tell she paid it a visit. their is evidence!  those branches didn't fall out on their own. me too on Mannie. think of him every time I look at that tree,. he really loved christmas, having that tree up in the house. Hope so on Bug, and Lola. Elsa was there last night for a bit too. Will do on the warm, and THX on Picnic Point. and I can't wait to see if Rusty ignored his tree this year. ;-)
