Kona had a great today. How did the vet visit go

Good morning, Diane. The vet visit went okay. There was nothing in the diabetes panel or blood pressure that was concerning to her. I posted the results in the labs sheet of my spreadsheet. Her fructosamine dropped some from her last visit, so I think that was good for the doctor to see that I'm keeping up with decent regulation. She said it was a good range. Anything under 300 and it might mean Kona is getting too low when I'm at work and not able to test. I still worry about the RenalTech positive result that shows up. https://www.antechdiagnostics.com/renaltech/ I'm giving Omega 3 and trying to supplement with Weruva Wx Low Phos foods here and there, but I think I'm just fighting genetics and the inventible.

The really only bad part of the visit was that Kona was supposed to have radiographs done, a second attempt, but she wasn't having it. They sent me home with gabapentin pills to give her before we try to go in for the third time. The radiographs are just routine, part of her Care Club package.

Kona sister's, Cleo, has lost hair on her ear, so now we're trying to figure out what the heck is up with that. The hair has been gone for about 3 or 4 weeks now. We're going to give it more time, but if it doesn't grow back we will put her on some sort of anti-allergy medicine.

@Diane Tyler's Mom Thanks for checking in and asking. :bighug:

Looks like maybe a little bit of a bounce after that beautiful day yesterday full of green?

Either way I hope she comes down for you nice and steady and Nestle, Peanut and me wish you and your girls a nice caturday.

Hi Jason, Kona is having a nice cycle today. Looks like a bounce this am.
Sorry to hear she had a rough day at the vet and would not cooperate for the x-rays.
I also have to sedate Ivy just to take her to the vet. She is not a good cooperator. I have to give gabapentin and trazodone for any visits whatsoever. It really is not fun.
I hope they figure out what’s going on with Cleo and her ear. It’s always something. Hope you have a good Saturday with your girls

So...you want to feed the higher carbs (5.5% or 13%) earlier in the cycle. Feeding carbs later will reduce the duration of insulin and cause her numbers to go up faster. I would have fed the 5.5% at +2 when she saw that almost 100 point drop. And then feed LC later in the cycle to keep her surfing green as long as she can.

Good eye! Totally what I should have done... sometimes I'm not thinking and just grabbing whatever open cans that are in the fridge. But yes, that makes sense. She's starting lower tonight... I gave her a 5.5% dinner. Update coming any second...
