Howdy all! I Have been so crazy lately I haven't been able to get on here as often. Now that we are a growing community of ProZinc users I need to be better about checking in, although I have tried to chat with as many as I can on Facebook.
Anyway- since changing Tucker from Wellness Core dry to canned food his sugars have been terrific on very little insulin! He is now on Wellness Core canned and Wellness Chicken - I hoped that staying within the same brand would limit any colitis flaring and he seems to really like it. Of course since had been a grazer his whole life until I changed to timed feeding he is up yowling at 5 am looking for food!!
If you look at his SS you can see how well he is doing. Knowing his pred will kick in later after his shot makes me less anxious about shooting his low number but he is still a little inconsistent. Today I am doing testing q2 hrs because I suspected he was having a rapid jump in glucose mid day and it appears I am correct. I can only believe it is the pred since he only gets fed at 6a and 6p. He does get a treat with his test but those are negligible. I am concerned about how quickly he drops initially in the am, but am afraid to lower the dose because he ends higher for the pmps.
He is difficult but truly feels better! I love seeing him playing again, and he has stopped pulling out his fur on his sides!! I Think he was doing that because he felt so lousy before. He even has fur growing back!!!
Any thoughts?
Thanks!
Jen
