What a morning it has been so far! When I got up at 3:45am to t/f/s, Osha was eating a blueberry muffin. :eek: So I was not surprised at her number. She just looked at me like, what....I gave you ONE point lower than black...it's all good momma. :rolleyes:

Then I went back to bed and got up to get ready for the day and found some raw duck throw up. EEEWWWW!:stop: I guess the muffin did not sit well in her stomach.

Today is my mom's procedure on her spine. Please send all your amazing L&LL powerful vines for a safe procedure and some major healing.

Amanda and Kitty Osha, The Empress

Osha was eating a blueberry muffin. :eek:
O.M.G. LOL. :banghead::banghead:

Gizmo got into some peach cobbler around July 4th - this was pre diagnosis and almost in the throws of being really, really sick. He has never been allowed on the kitchen counters (or tables) and never been given human food so the behavior was completely out of the norm. Not only did he get into it he managed to push the glass 9x13 off the counter in his endeavors.

Prayers for you and your mom today:bighug:. Osha, behave! Surf safe and don't worry your mama today.:cat:

Oh no, Amanda I'm sure it is the bad-for-kitty muffin that is causing the problem
Now you know to make all food Osha proof
I SO have hope that today is the answer to your Mom's pain - prayers!!

Osha!!!! Ugh, just what you needed this morning. Guess it's better she's getting it out rather than brewing anymore in her system. Mega vines and prayers for your mom today and tons of :bighug::bighug::bighug: for you.

Our Seth (GA) LOVED blueberry muffins lol... course he didnt have diabetes... would knock them off the cupboard if you didnt watch him while they were cooling and eat the tops off... guests would come over and he would sit at their feet staring at them if they ate oen like thats mine lol... come on Osha you cant be feeling good at these numbers sweetie... time to head back on down to the blues at least...

Sending prayers for you mom ... hoping her pain is lessened greatly or gone all together... have a good day Amanda:bighug::bighug::bighug:

Healing and ❤️ And :bighug: Vines, bushels full, for you, your mom and of course for naughty naughty pixie Osha. Yep, Osha good news is you won't have to worry today about the empress's numbers going too low!

Mom update: She had the procedure on her spine today. When they reviewed the MRI taken last week the fracture had gotten worse. The procedure went well and they also gave her a cortisone injection in her tail bone. She fractured her tail bone when she fell roller skating with me in 1981. It started bothering her a few weeks after the vertebrae fracture. She is already standing taller when walking and not as bent over. She still can't tolerate sitting up, but the cortisone injection should help the pain in her tail bone soon. The doc said within the next 2-3 days her spine should start to feel better as well.

Osha update: When I got up for AMPS Osha was eating a blueberry muffin. Osha vomited shortly after her AMPS and again at her +3 snack. Both were the raw duck. For her +4 snack I gave FF and then I left. I didn't see any signs of more vomit when I came home. I gave the raw duck again at PMPS and she threw up 15 minutes later. I don't know what is going on. She has tolerated the raw very well. Today's servings were moved from the freezer to the fridge last night. I am going to feed FF for her +3 and +5 snack tonight. I don't know what to do about food at this moment.

Thank you for all your vines and prayers!!!

Nice to ear about your mother's medical condition is now clear. There is nothing like being in
the dark and not knowing how the inside is doing. Hope the pain will wear out and those tiny
rubber pads will do their job (if it's like the picture you posted).

Sorry for the vomit.. What about a switch to ff and see if everything stays inside. If she vomit
again it's not the raw food, if she goes well with ff then try raw one more time and throw it
away if it happens again. Although cats have a higher tolerance in regards of food contamination
(abandoned cats stay alive just eating garbage), they are not immune to indigestion.

The way I prevent raw food contamination is to thoroughly clean all what is in contact
with the food, use disposable rubber gloves and as soon as the food is mixed I push
everything in ice cubes racks. This way there is portions that are ready for single
serve, just need to one or two cube from freezer to fridge. By the next day it's
almost unfrozen and just need to add water to finish melting.

Hope things will get back into place for Osha and nice recovery to your mother !

Hopefully it's still some of that muffin. However Duck in general is pretty fatty and might not agree with her well. Who knows though...

Glad to hear the procedure went well. Sending extra vines and prayers for your mom.

I do what you do with the raw food as well! I found the ice cubes give me one ounce per cube and are easy to portion out the correct amount. Last night I put six cubes in the fridge in zip loc containes for her portions for today. I don't know what is going on with her food and the vomit, but it is not like Osha at all. She has tolerated the raw so well.

So, I just gave her FF for the +3 snack and we will see how it goes. I will give it for her +5 tonight as well. If she holds this down, I will ditch the frozen I have in the current ice cube tray and start with a new package to see if she holds it down. I am so confused!!!!!

My mom got up and walked to the kitchen and was looking for food!!!! WOW!!! I told her to go sit and I will make her food. But she WANTS food and she got up herself!!! YAY

Thanks Karen. I am just lost in regards to the food. This was her 7th day on the duck. I just hope she keeps the FF down right now. Not sure what to do for food in the morning.

I wonder if the duck is too rich (fatty)? I had to laugh at the blueberry muffin:p
Hope your moms feeling much better soon. It's such a slow process anyway but to add age to it will even take longer. Hopefully that is the last procedure she will need:bighug::bighug:
Osha kitty food only:cat::arghh:

I'm so glad your mom's procedure went well and she is wanting food.

I wonder if Osha's tummy got upset from eating the blueberry muffin and the raw is just too much for her right now. I think you may need to feed her the FF for a couple of days to let her tummy settle and then try the raw again.

Sending prayers. :bighug::bighug:

Glad to hear your mom's spinal procedure went well and already feeling good effects. Wow!

Re Osha and vomiting: could it be the duck? I think duck is in the fattier range of protein sources? Critters here tend to bypass anything with duck in it, even if I've mightily camouflaged it with other proteins. First time I tried Stella and Chewy freeze dried duck (that I think also has some turkey) they each either rejected it or blucched it up
PDQ.

I just think it's so weird that she has been eating the duck for 6 days without issue and on day 7 she is vomiting it up. Hopefully it is just the combination of the muffin and the duck. I will stick with FF tonight and tomorrow AM. I will try the duck again tomorrow night when I am home and see what happens.
